The biggest problem of the Canucks is the back end. If you can't generate offence then you are screwed. Edler is no longer a 40 pt Dman. He is good defensively but do you want to commit 5 mil a year for 3 years.

There is no hometown discount for a 33 year old player looking to sign his last big deal.

I don’t trust the pro-scouts ability to identify a better player. I would rather have more picks in Brackett’s pocket.

Don't hold your breath. It's not Benning's M.O. to gather multiple picks. 2014 is the only year in five drafts he's done it.

I don't really care if he stays or goes, but they need to find better offensive defencemen. If he can be moved or he's not re-signed because you found a better option then do it.

The only trades I'd consider as "ok" by Benning is the Dorsett and Baertschi trades, I'm not hopeful he can win a player for player trade. Hasn't happened yet!

I'd attempt to sign Erik Karlsson, he's top three offensive dmen in the league, only costs you money.

You have to have a real heart of stone to be a GM in this league. Trying to get drafts picks for players gets you no sympathy for the devil, even though a few people in here want to paint it black and trade off all those vets.

oddly enough. I went to the Canucks page to see what scout was in charge of what league (bracket (director) and NCAA or Gradin for SWE for example). I noticed that there was a Brandon Benning listed as an amateur scout for the Canucks. Dug a little deeper, turns out its one of Benning's actual kids LOL

I'd dangle every carrot you could find to get EK to sign. I'd even suggest moving Petey back to D to play with Karley

Yeah, it's all about who you know. It's the same in all these organizations.
