Just to let you know, the NHL TV network and Radio network are in agreement that in order to get a wildcard spot in the west, you will have to have a minimum of 100 points because of the overtime and shootout points, especially among the teams playing more games against each other in the second half of the season. The Blues as of today are picked to have the Number 3 pick in this years draft behind Los Angeles and Chicago!

This team is UGLY

I would say its time to start a retooling of sorts move on from guys any and all guys you can move

I just don't get it this team shouldn't be this bad

They need to find a way to inject some speed in to this lineup or they are toast

Given 97 is within 3% of 100, I'd say that is around a playoff spot

On the number 3, only if the lottery would fall that way.

@Sycasm

What you said is the tough thing here.

This team should not be bad. So as the GM you have to identify a few things here: 1)What is causing this chemistry issue?
For instance, I often hear, Steen is this and that, but Steen is an excellent player to have on the ice. I assume a good guy in the room.
2) If you are sucking and the season is lost, do you keep trying, or do you make sure you suck and get a franchuse player and look to the long term. If you get a franchise player it has to change some of your long term cap and core player plans.

Overall, I find Allen to be frustrating. Yes, early on their were defensive lapses, but the sheer ease of goals going in was past the level of acceptance. A few saves here and there and this season is vastly different.

Parayko is on notice right now. With Petro out this is his chance to showcase if he can be the man and relied upon. If you notice anything lacking, anything that gives you pause or doubt as the GM you must then accept moving him while his value and potential are not alligned enough to provide a clear value. In other words, you are hoping for another GM to gamble on his potential. So if you can get better players you do it. That's only if you can read Parayko's value correctly. Much like Stempniak who a lot of us overvalued at the time of that trade. If nothing else Steen was/is a better player.

It is obvious speed matters a lot. It sucks to say but Maroon is on the outs if he is played any higher than a fourth liner and pp specialist. O'Reilley gets away with average speed and Perron is maybe a tick above that but both players have exceptional hands, vision and thinking.

I'm not sure Bozak fits in this team. Can he be moved just to dump salary, and if so what are the unintended consequences, i.e., makes it harder to sign free agents etc...
