At the very least it's nice to see Kyle's somewhat proactive about this process by opening dialogue. I bet he did the same with Willy but there was always that sense of having to dig in here on both sides to set the standard.

I doubt it because not even Matthews and Marner know what they want yet because the season isn't over yet and they'll probably determine what they want based on where they finish in the statistical categories.

It's almost advantageous for Matthews and Marner to start sucking, lose in the 1st round, sign sweet team friendly deals and then go back to playing well next year. Almost like tanking for good (team friendly) contracts.
