There are like maybe a handful of guys in the league that can turn nobodies into something on a line....McDavid is obviously one of those very few.....if you gave Drai a sniper on his own line we would rack up a lot of points.....considering what Drai had when he was on his own line I think he did very well....Drai isn’t McDavid and he shouldn’t be asked to be either....he is good but certainly not that good.....Matthews has Nylander.....Marner has Tavares.....then look at the Avs and Bruins big lines now look at what Drai had but yes he sucks because he can’t drive his own line

My favourite is the "he needs to score more" bullpoop. (frank)er has 237 points in 297 games, put up 70 in 77 games last year and is better than a PPG this year!

But yeah, "he needs to score more".

Most people just regurgitate whatever they hear, with no thought as to where they hear it.

Now I'm not hockey savvy by any means, but I do try to base my opinions on researched fact, whether they concern my squad or not. Though sometimes it is fun to totally talk outa my ass.

I’m not Mr.Hockey either but I know if you look at the leagues top point getters and the lines they play on you can certainly see quality there....put Drai on that Avs line and I’ll bet my house he is doing just as good as those guys are....that line is pure quality with no flaws

McDavid is keeping you guys close. You’re not that far out of 1st in the Pacific and we’re only a third of the way through. Although you have to catch the Mighty Flames. Bring back the battle of Alberta.

It’s going to be fun to watch as usual but the way you guys have been scoring makes me feel rather uneasy about the match up....either our goalie needs to play flawless or yours needs to have a bad night.....let’s be honest it’s possible with how it’s been this year

If Vancouver offered Gagner for Russell would you do it ?

Oh that’s a tough one....I mean Gagner has one less year and is cheaper but I guess it depends on if you would be comfortable with Benning being in his spot unless there is a trade to be made for an upgrade

Edit: Screw it I would then we could buy out Sekera and be rid of Russell’s contract as well

If Sekera was back and Vancouver ate half his salary, then maybe.

I just figured why not? If we wanted the Oilers to buy out Russell this is the cheaper option....Gagner has one less year and is cheaper to pay

We'd have a lot of money true, but how would you spend it mid season?

Through a trade possibly? I’m js instead of wasting a buyout on him why not just trade instead then if we can upgrade through trade or an off season signing then we can just buyout Sekera if that’s still something people want

I don't think Nuge and Larsson would HAVE to be signed before the expansion draft in order to be kept.

You don't think Gagner could thrive next to McD ? or with Nugey ?

I actually haven't minded Russell (too much) this year, but if you could shave a year of contract and 2 mil per in swapping him for Gagner, a 3rd pairing D for a 2nd(only on this team)/3rd line winger, I don't know why we wouldn't. I'd be fine with Gravel permanently taking that spot. I don't know why Van would though. They are full of 3rd pairing D men. Also don't know why Russell would waive his NMC for Van.
