Can we hope this works out for both players?

Kessel deal I could see making some sense:

Kessel is willing to go to MIN in this scenario

Kessel + Brassard

for

Staal + Granlund

add a piece here or there to make it even

Posted earlier, but Sprong was dangerous all night. Kid can absolutely fire the puck and his speed and ability to shoot on net accurately and pick his spots is sorely needed on Ducks.
As for this narrative about his D .... that's what Gibson/Miller are for .. we got plenty of D.. What we didn't have much of before he got here was a kid that can skate like that and finish with a hammer of a shot.

Maybe Nino instead of Granlund?

Maybe. I was thinking Granlund because he is a more capable scorer and giving up Kessel would be huge.

Not bad, I just don't think it makes the Pens better...

Not gonna find a Kessel trade that does imo. Literally on 8 players have more points than Kessel in the last 2.25 seasons

Eh, don't see too much reasoning there for the Wild.

Thought process is a roster shakeup after getting bounced in round 1 three years in a row.

I’m honestly not that familiar Granlund. Nino is off to a slow start this year, but Granlund more of a scorer than Nino?

I like Nino’s speed, physicality and scoring ability.

Is there any truth to the rumors St Louis is unhappy with Tarasenko? Or just non sense? I can't remember where I saw it. Might have been on here.

I have trouble believing they'd move Tarasenko. Apparently there's some legit rumors about the Jets. Brassard? Teams have been scouting each other.

Yeah.... He looked good the entire game. That was literally the best game I've seen him play. I didn't see him have a bad defensive moment either other than a failed clear late in the game. I've been wondering about the "change of scenery" possibility. I think our coaching staff beat him up more than propped him up.

For Little? We'd need another center back.

There were some articles about frustrations that he wasn't scoring and then they had him down on the third line. No trade rumors that I am aware of.

Yeah. Maybe that's what I'm remembering. That's a trade for Kessel that'd interest me.

Little would make an awesome 3rd line C and Brass would make a better 2nd line C.

There are some issues though. Little makes $5.2M and is signed thru age 35. Brassard is a UFA. I'm not sure what WPG gains other than flexibillity and perhaps more offense.

I'd be interested in Lowry and Perreault as well. WPG has lots of enticing pieces. I just can't really form an opinion when I dont know WPG's level of interest in Brass.

Outside of Brassard. Would a Maatta/Myers swap make sense?

Only if you want an older, worse player that is UFA at the end of the season.

It's hard to say who's involved. I just mention Brassard because they tried like hell to get him last year and Stastny left.

if im a rival GM, I'm getting in touch with Rutherford to see what he wants for Matt Murray while Rutherford is in the Christmas spirit of giving.......
Another buy low option for a desperate team. If I'm Calgary, I'm offering up Smith and a sandwich.

Yeah I remember that. Little is having a pretty good year and his line with Laine and Connor has been really good. I'm not sure why they'd do that.

We don't want to have Sheahan as 3C so a winger trade would hurt us more than help.

Lowry would save us some money and may be better suited for a 3C role.

Quite a few around here would take that. So lets make it Johnson instead of Maatta. And since it's the Penguins, we will throw in a pick or two.

Sprong sucks. I’d probably score a goal if I got that many free passes in the nhl.
