The fact he thinks Farabee is anywhere in the realm of Frost, who was an OHL MVP finalist and 2nd in OHL scoring at 18, not as an overager. - youarewrong
They both have bright futures. At this early stage, I wouldn’t want to be forced to choose one.

You think you can trade Simmonds for what then? Kapanen will hit 20 goals easy in his second year in the NHL. Might be a 30 goal scorer and is what? 22? - mayorofangrytown
not to but in on this, but why not....ha
don't know what Simmonds gets, but if he and a 2nd gets the flyers Kapanen
they should be all over that

I sure hope that the Flyers hold on to both.
There is 0 reason to trade them at this time, well unless the Canucks want to trade Elias Pettersson or the Oilers want to trade McD.
(I am not saying straight up. I am not comparing the Flyers prospects to the plays named above. I am speaking about a blockbuster trade that would require alot more from the Flyers but include said players) - ggunky
I agree, both including Hart are on my future no trade list...unless it is for a sure shot superstar in their prime. I just happen to grade Farabee a bit higher than Frost. |

As much as I love Simmonds and I think he is the closest we will ever have to a classic "Flyers player" if they were to sign him for 7 years at 7 per everyone should be fired. - opeth_pa
Agreed, and doubt any GM gives Simmonds 7 X 7. But someone will offer him 5 X 7 or 6 X 6 and change and he’ll get at least a limited NTC too. |

NCAA is much different than CHL...Farabee is playing against grown men already. Plus Farabee is more of a shooter, where as Frost is a playmaker. Personally for me I give the slight edge to the scorer. - Glak18

That would be awesome. Now if Hart can be the next Parent and Farabee the next Billy Barber, we be set! |

So because Frost is the "next Giroux" that means Farabee can only be worse? |

Yup. Now factor in the added revenue from another expansion team coming in 21-22. Unless there is a major recession (which is always possible) the cap could easily be at 95 million or more by 23-24. - BiggE

part of one season doesn't make him a perennial 20 goal guy, being young and having a good year makes him interesting enough but why would the Leafs trade him? he will probably get a bridge contract. I also think with Nylander back he sees less ice time and a change of linemates, curious if that has an impact on his production.
I think they get full value for Simmonds if they trade him to a team that believes they will sign him. |

So what’s your idea of full value?
Kapenan isn’t taking a bridge deal fwiw |

This discussion makes me wonder that if Hextall was not high at the 2017 draft and kept Schenn, we would discuss neither Frost nor Farabee here. We would have our 2C (Nolan as 3C), balanced top 9, in play off spot and Hextall would be still GM :-) |

Clarke had a premonition that day and was giving it to G for passing some of his records.

You think Schenn would of changed things?
If only Schenn could of proved to be a 2C when he was actually in Philly...oh wait he played 1C last year for Stl then got knocked down to 2C later in the year...so St. Louis just happen to sign/trade centers in the offseason (ROR and Bozak). Now Schenn is spending a lot of time as 3C. Did you see his awesome game last night against Edmonton? |

Ditto.
Weird how Schenn has been playing on non-playoff teams, yet he would of made Philly a playoff team. St. Louis doesn't have any more problems the Flyers do. |

It is funny considering his point totals. Could it be that scoring alone doesn't indicates a player's value? |
