Not my post so not defending the vagueness or value... But, if the Blues go down this road it's a rebuild. A 1st, a valued prospect (someone like Liljegren) and a roster player that they could flip at the deadline for more magic beans is a good return for most good players. We didn't even get a good roster player back on that package for Kessel all those years ago.

Right. Leafs all in just after Dubas has gone on record that he plans to take his time to see what he has in this group with Nylander coming back before making any moves. And this right after he proved he learned from Lou Lam that when you have time use it - right up until 8min before the Nylander deadline.

Gardiner is far from a throw in. 50 point D-men are in high demand. However, he is a UFA after this season and the Blues are now playing for the future so he would make no sense for them. The cost will be high though. I would imagine Kapanen would be a part of the ask along with a 1st and a top prospect.

Again, the Blues have ZERO reasons to want to move him, especially now that Pietrangelo is on LTIR.

IF they were going to do that, it would only be in the context of a full on reboot--meaning guys like Schenn, Tarasenko--basically everyone except RoR, Thomas and Kyrou--would be in play as well. That is clearly not happening.

Maybe Parayko gets moved when Petro comes back. I doubt it, but it could happen. None of the teams mentioned are going to deal what the Blues' ask would be.
