Someone mentioned every team in the league would trade their best player for McDavid. I really don't think Buffalo or Toronto would tho. Maybe for the right to draft McJesus at the draft, but not now after a few years with their teams. I also think every team in the league would trade their best player for Eichel or Matthews...except Edmonton.
- joevthree

I agree. But McDavid would be #1 still overall.

Eichel is just getting started. His stats are skewed by our tanking on and off thru his entire career here.

Also: I'm not worried about eichels ankles, but I think most gms would have some concern. Hopefully the injuries are freak and not genetic

I’m liking the old school “mighty ducks” uniforms that Anaheim is wearing tonight

So you were in the locker room to witness these things?
The players actually told you how they felt?

It has been confirmed several times by Homie and 89. Also a friend of mine from Lockport who has spent time in the players lounge over the last couple of years who I can’t identify or else it could have ramifications on himself and people he knows.

Btw...
i never predicted Mitts would struggle
Just that it was certainly a decent possibility he wouldn’t produce like a stud right away

I think he’s shown promise though,
even if the points aren’t coming

Looks like he’s gonna be a pretty good player for us

Would’ve been nice if Sobotka or Berglund could fill that 2C role for now & take some pressure off him,
but he’s just gonna have to fight through it

They could’ve simply just said something like,
“We’re cool. It was no big deal.”

But Jack just makes up that elaborate story about clowning the media?
No way
That’s way too over the top

U could make a case that ROR couldn’t afford another black mark on his resume
But it was JACK who told the story
He’s signed for 10years & is our golden boy
His Rep was more than ok

- jdfitz77

Again- adults lie
They have agents. Why would they just admit they were both difficult?

The story isn't really that "elaborate "

Scooby doo could figure this one out.

This would hurt both reputations. How do you not see that. Even if it's slightly.

Jack already has a bad reputation for getting bylsma fired. Remember how everyone was saying he was coach and gm?

I'm not saying I know this for a fact. But it makes sense. Everyone lies, some people just believe what they hear.

Pretty sure I gave you props the other day.
My expectations were way higher points wise for mitts.

That’s not “first hand”
Also... guys argue lots when the team is losing
I’m sure they weren’t the only ones
But bc they were the 2 most high profile guys,
I believe it was made out to be more that what it really was

They both confirmed as much
And i have no reason to think they were lying

What u say is certainly possible,
but i don’t think either needed to go into big detail about how they were really “all good”

And that story Jack told was pretty elaborate
U really think he’d make that up & risk someone saying it wasn’t true?
O’Reilly probably wouldn’t...
but what about a guy like Gorges, who supposedly had issues in the past with Jack
Or any of the others who were supposedly on ROR’s side?

I just don’t think u make up a story like that

U did
I was just responding...
saying that i didn’t actually predict for him to do this bad
Just thought he MIGHT NOT be a stud right away

You actually gave me too much credit, lol

He’s been ok so far though
I think the points will come

Broncos claimed WR Andre Holmes off waivers from Buffalo.

Holmes adds depth with Emmanuel Sanders on IR. He won't be higher than the No. 4 wideout.

This is where i think we’re at, and what we still need, to become a legit contender

(SKINNER)-EICHEL- *******
******* -MITTELSTADT-REINHART
SHEARY- ******* -okposo
RODRIGUES-________-________

DAHLIN- *******
mccabe-RISTOLAINEN
PILUT-________

HUTTON
ULLMARK

BOLD - definitely “core” players
CAPS- guys we like, but not 100% on
lower case- want to upgrade or lessen role
_____- should have someone to fill role
*****- major need to be filled

- sbroads24

I saw they were taking calls on him
One would assume they want a scoring forward
Might not be a great fit
They’d probably want Sam, which i think Botts would see as too much

If Sheary was signed, and scoring a little more, then maybe him +

But I’m guessing they’re asking for someone higher end

Tough to say

Is Nylander + a 1st way too much?

He’s a solid, smooth player, I’d love to add him

The value seems reasonable, bc Nylander is still a question mark

But idk if that works for the Ducks?

Seems like if they trade him, it would be for pieces that help now- not futures

Ryan O'Reilly is this era's Shane Doan. Everything points to him being a great player...except the win column.

It's not too much as the Ducks would likely ask for more. Probably something like Reinhart or Guhle and a 1st.

I'm probably way over valuing the picks, but I wouldn't trade any of the 4 first round picks the next 2 years unless it was part of a package for a sure fire player.

Seems odd,
bc he was seemingly a guy they wouldn’t consider moving in the past

They’re kinda desperate for scoring though

Maybe they’re trying to do a Seth Jones for Johansen type deal?
(on a lesser scale, of course)

I think he’s a good player, probably with good intentions, who’s never accepted who he is as a hockey player, and has developed a very nauseating persona

As much as I don’t love Reinhart, not sure that’s a great deal for us or even makes sense.

Our 1sts are being WAY OVERRATED imo
Ppl are acting like they’re sure things
I won’t even throw out the names of the guys we’ve picked in last 1st rounds
But Botts record (as asstGM) in the 1st isn’t all that great either

Outside the top5-10, it’s still a pretty big crapshoot as to whether the guy will become a “core” player, or just a nice depth guy

I actually think a more stay-at-home type with some toughness (to clear the front of the net)- like Josh Manson- would be the ideal fit as a partner for Dahlin

If we added Montour, then i think Risto would have to be be Dahlin’s partner
And Montour would be 2nd pair

That could work too
