Shoulder/forearm to shoulder/forearm. Looks super clean to me. Get Reeves the Lady Bing award for showing Wilson a clean hit up close and personal.

Suspend or fine Reeves, but great job Ryan.

If you are going to give it, don't be mad when you get it.

You know what I just saw? Karma. Not going to applaud the Vegas player, but man, Tom has had a bit of karma coming his way for a LONG time.

A little late but otherwise a clean hit. Not sure why Wilson is staring over his shoulder at his pass. Not sure if it should be suspension worthy but a fine, sure go for it.

If Wilson had his helmet done up properly this is a 2 min penalty at max.

Reaves didnt even have to change where he was skating to make this hit... Wilson literally looked back to admire his pass and skated right into a freight train. You don't blame the train that hits the person in the railroad tracks, you blame the person who was absent minded enough to get walk out onto the tracks with the train coming. the only thing about this hit is that it was late however again Reaves has every right to his skating path in this scenario as he was already going in that direction. His elbows remained down and it looks more live Reaves braced for impact more so than trying to demolish Wilson. This his could have been 100 times worth if Reaves wanted it to be.

Just like the Capitals' coach stated after Wilsons hit against Seney - it was incidental contact, and he was skating backward into the hit !!

What the hell were the Caps so angry about. Turn about is fair play - not ???

All of a sudden it's an egregious foul ??

Get off your high horse.

Well I agree that Reeves hit was a blindside hit that was predatory. Maybe being on the receiving end of a hit like that will teach Tom Wilson a lesson because clearly being suspended was not a deterrent. Couldn't have happened to anyone more deserving.

Reeves finished his check, was a bit late of a hit and Wilson would have been able to manage it better if he was more aware. That said, after looking at the angles, I don't think it was a blind sude hit. They had been going at each other all game, so it shouldn't have been surprising. He's just not used to being hit like that, happy to dish it out and thinks no one will step up to challenge. That's a mistake.

You know I am with you I don't want to praise Reeves for injuring someone, but at the same time this is really the only way to curb these dirty hits. Suspensions are still needed, but if players who are dirty know they are more open to their same tactics then players will start to think twice, at least the smart ones.

Now when Wilson comes back and he wants to lay Marchard out with a no look flying elbow then all is fair.

Reaves tried his best to get out of the way. Purely accidental. Good hockey play. Karma

I'd say the hit was a second late and deserving of the on-ice call. But no further discipline. However, if that had been Wilson delivering it with his history, at least 10 games!

Agreed, I am at the point with the NHL that knowing they can not be consistent with their calls that Tom Wilson being the one hit has to factor into the decision. Blindside should hit with no head contact, if that was Wilson it would of been one of his cleanest hits...2 games max.

I am Devils fan, but the hit on Seney seemed a lot later and more avoidable then this. Outside of being late, this hit is completely shoulder to shoulder. The head isn't targeted.

Hm.... this is a tough one.

Seeing the way Wilson was coming in, and his reputation... can't say I wouldn't preemptively initiate contact like Reaves did.

It's a bit dirty, and certainly the outcome isn't good (never want to see a player hurt, including a headhunter like Wilson). Probably a 5ish game suspension coming.

On the other hand, karma.
