Somewhat related, but another article about Kane and the inability for the coaching staff to find a line that works for him.
https://chicago.suntimes....trick-kane-anaheim-ducks/ - pdx2ord
It's maddening that they still have this issue of feeling out the other team before they start "playing". I'm sure it would do wonders for confidence if they could just get a lead. Hopefully get Kane and DeBrincat going again.
The article alludes to it, but they really need to get some line consistency. The problem is they don't have enough NHL players to ice four lines, so the blender comes out.
... Yes, I have an amazing grasp of the obvious... |

I'd stick with ADB-Strome-Kane for 5 straight games, and see if they can develop some chemistry. |

Additional WJC preliminary roster invites:
USA: Barratt
Sweden: Boqvist
Switzerland: Kurashev
BTW, Barratt is listed as a LW on the Team USA roster.
Announced earlier in the week:
Canada: Beaudin, Mitchell, Entwistle
Finland: Nordgren
Czech Republic: Galvas - AEL_Fox
I’m hoping Barratt can be a spark plug for us at some point. A grinding guy with decent skill. Haven’t had a rat since Shaw.
Kurashev and Shalunov get mixed up for me. I know there’s one KHL kid who is picking up some hype.

Thank you for sharing that article. If the lineup is stocked with players who are fully developed and know the systems well enough to implement effectively, then there shouldn't be a feeling out process to start games. Just go out and play the game by trusting your skills, instincts, and team structure. The Hawks are clearly not at that point. |

I think it's either Kayumov or Altybarmakyan. Pretty sure it's Kayumov.
Kurashev has a unique multicultural background: born in Switzerland but parents are both Russian and now has lived and played in French-speaking Quebec. Multi-lingual person, too. |

It would be easy to say that some people thought this team was playoff capable. Part if this thinking might have been based upon core players bouncing back. Toews and Seabrook in particular. Perhaps someone even figured a fresher Keith is better, since he would pay less on PP and pk. Well some plastering around the
rough edges brought in Kunitz and Manning.
Those two were on the cheap. They were cheap because why pay for something better if you aren"t going to playoffs. Or so I figured.
Apparently BOWMAN thought oherwise.
Apparently someone thought Gus could be a realweapon in a fuve man group. Hasn't worked out. Perhaps in a better team and he decides to play defense with a much better effort.
Ironiclywith Murphy due back is the team really any better. Eventually he will change address because speed wins out, it will continue trending and we have prosoects galore whom all skate better than Murphy. Ho ho ho
I day the real problem is that some core veterans do not provide proper effort all the time.
Ifind it ironic about Toews in particular last game. I could use some input here,so stay with me and see if you can add. If you were at the game or even saw the telecast you can input better than myself. I merely heard alarming comments on the radio broadcast.
You see before this team is good again both Toews and Seabrook must be gone. They take up too much cap space per their slot on the line or pairing.
Anyway Tiews was named third star if the game. Yet I clearly heard Wideman say on two occasions that Tiews made the obvious wrong decision with puck distribution.
Once he waited to find Saad breaking and nothing materialized. Toews should have attacked the net, Wideman explained.
Toews is just not good enough. He is maybe afrwuate as a #2 or #3. Mahyn who had been on his line at times ought to have e a couple more goals
Kane is not really motivated either. Dysfunctional team - jhawk59
Toews continues to state in his post game presser that the problem is the little things and small details. Sorry when your team has one 3 of 18, loses almost every period, gets blown off the ice with in 10 minutes of the zamboni exiting, is at the bottom of the league in pts and almost every important stats...that is helluva lot more than the just working out the details and the little thing.
Decision making defensively, in transition, pk and pp have been
Passing and pass reception have been weak...late passes, fumbled reception, passes back toward the neutral zone.. |

both teams have been off; hawks for 3 (which usually means a listless loss) and ducks for 2. ducks have won 4 strt and last game came back from being down 5-1 to beat the caps 6-5.
If the ducks scouts and coaching staff are even have aware; the report to the players should be come out hard, fast and you will beat the hawks by the 10 minute mark.
Until the hawks decide to start games on time and have a push of their own that will be the message of how to beat this mess of a team... |

How successful will Hawks PR efforts to humanize the front office through multiple Rocky, McD and Stan interviews, both locally and nationally, be in buying time with the Hawks' jumping-ship fans? |

How many more National TV broadcast games will the Hawks be embarrassed on? The Bandwagoners are already gone man. I bet NBCSN-Chicago Broadcast viewership is down 50%++
It's painful for us die-hards to watch this team, so no casual fan is going to watch this awful on-ice product consistently. |

IMO, not at all. No one really cares about those guys unless and until they screw up, and then they don't want excuses, just a solution.
The most offensive thing is being blatantly lied to by the FO. We have eyes and the ones still paying attention know what they are seeing on the ice. Stop gaslighting us, though I know it is all the rage these days. Instead, focus your efforts on helping me get invested in the young guys as people like you did with the core back in 2008-10 and I'll want to watch your team, even if you're not currently winning.
Yes, I hear what Grit is saying about marketing and never spreading negative messages, but I believe treating your fans/audience like they are idiots is worse. |

Pd, I gave the same, but longer rant, a blog or two ago. Treat me, the fan, with respect and the truth, and I will come back and spend money. I will be a fan no matter the years of sucking. Anything else, which is lies and b.s., is just a joke and an insult of my intelligence. If there is or isn't a plan, tell me the right guy is in the position to right the ship, or is at least trying his damndest. |

Lazerus reported the scratches for the game tonight are Martinsen, Kunitz and Rutta, which I think is the best case scenario ... not that the guys in the lineup are any great shakes but if I had to pick the three I never want to see again - it would be that threesome. |

Zawaski’s stuff is ALWAYS on the money.
Gagner will be a Hawk soon.
All about the price at this point.
I feel like Justin does that he is one piece of a bigger deal. |

OK, sorry, but WTAF??!!??
Blackhawks in warmups:
Saad-Toews-Perlini
Hayden-Anisimov-Kane
DeBrincat-Strome-Fortin
Kahun-Kampf-Kruger
Keith-Jokiharju
Manning-Seabrook
Gustafsson-Forsling
Crawford
Ward
This is not the way you get your most potent offensive weapon going. |

Yet Colliton seemed nothing more than lukewarm on Hayden when he was coaching him in Rockford. What is going on. . .trade showcase?? |

Rather have Rutta in than him.
They need to get Kane with ADB and Strome. |

I could not disagree with you more. Hayden, raw at times, gives you the most complete effort night in and night out. He plays the body, does well along the wall. He is part of the solution. |

Hayden is actually on the 4th with Arty and Krugs. Perlini is still with Saad and Toews, top line.. Kane, Kampf, and Kahun, 2nd line. Strome, Adb, and Fortin, 3rd line. Jumbled up, sorry, but those are the lines. |

I agree on the effort and on the toughness, but I'm not confident he can handle Kane's passing. Very few guys on this team can anticipate and act on those passes when needed. |

I root every game for Hayden. My challenge with him is that he seems to panic when he gets the puck - or at least not real confident. |
