No, 24" is the largest you want for a 1080 PC monitor. The image is going to be very grainy because the pixels are so large. - TrashPanda
Drop the sharpness and it won't be as glaring. |

Should be fine for XBox S.
Framerate of those games doesn't exceed 60 at best.
If you're a huge nerd like Scab that has a gaming PC capable of 120+ FPS, then a 144hz monitor is useful. - TheMussel

If you work out the math, it's basically $250k - $300k less than what his AAV works out to as his cap hit going forward, assuming no egregious signing bonus in year 1.
Assuming a 6 year deal and ignoring Year 1, his AAV and Cap hit in years 2+ would be:
$6.5m: $6.18m
$6.75m: $6.42m
$6.9m: $6.56m
$7m: $6.66m
$7.25m: $6.89m
$7.5m: $7.13m
That's if he signed today. If he signs on Saturday, those values vary at around $20 - $30k. - Monkeypunk
I still believe he bridges 2-3 years at 4.5 - 5.5 annual

Then you kill the overall picture quality.
Either way you lose.
Then again, it depends how far you are sitting from it. You won't notice so much if you're at a distance, but if it's on a desk scenario it might be intolerable. |

probably true... and they likely don't have the budget for an extra jersey at this point either |

I made a quick and simple model in Excel (because that's the type of nerd I am . . you know, when you're qualifying types of nerds).
2 years:
4.5 AAV: 3.79
5 AAV: 4.21
5.5 AAV: 4.63
3 years:
4.5: 4.02
5: 4.47
5.5: 4.92
He becomes eminently affordable on a bridge. But if he performs very well, his next contract could warrant a trade. If the Leafs bridge, I think 3 years is where they go, and probably @ 5.
I still think it's in both of their interests to settle in at 6*6.75. Nylander gains insurance in case anything bad happens, the Leafs gain insurance against the cap . . . And Nylander walks out of that contract a UFA. |

It's included in the trade.. Dubas and the Leafs are sending Nylander and a limo to Carolina for Pesce and Ferland. |

60hz is a no go for me.
Once you go full nerd, there's no going back. - Scabeh
Gaming is secondary for me, but this monitor does a fantastic job of it. Plus it's excellent for productivity use.
Gaming monitors are useless for me because they trade high frame rates for image quality. That's a no go for me. |

It's also not 1080, or has a god awful TN panel. I have this:
https://www.amazon.ca/LG-...1-1&keywords=lg+27uk650-w - TrashPanda
$500+...I'm not spending that kind of dough.
Spent big on my 52" XBR9 and my Samsung 64" f8500 plasma...top end tv's and these guys with 24" monitors see things way before I do.
I'll check out some 24" for $200 or less. |
