Subbans awesome. Petro has been bad this year, not sure what Keith’s got still haven’t been paying any attention to Chicago.
- ClarksonDavid

He's great offensively, but just average, maybe a bit above defensively IMO. They dont like that for Canada's top D pair.

Leafs beat his favorite team
- burn

Leafs only won, because the Bruins hit the post.
When Kadri hit the post on the breakaway chance he had, it was because Halak 'jedi-mind' tricked Naz..

you rank Marner above Jesus?
- senstroll

Maybe for this season, but Jesus has had a longer career

Yeah agreed. Leafs go 20 odd years between games without a penalty being called, and then just 1 more game until the next.
- walshyleafsfan

I was at that game....they missed a few calls for both sides.

Leafs-3rd lowest GA in the entire NHL
- RogerRoeper

6th highest shots against though

Not to go all UG, but I think they'll start getting burned more giving up that many shots as teams settle in after new years

An upgrade on D would be nice....

Or to have Matthews and Nylander back and crush o-zone possession to take the pressure of the D

.Bottom 10 in "High Danger" chances though. They are not giving up much quality shots.

Since the second half last year, Marner has more points per ice time than anyone in the league.

He should have been getting more TOI last season. Rantanen got 2 and a half minutes more per game. I was screaming about this last season.

I can appreciate that. An off goaltending night can see some of those low danger chances going in though.

To paraphrase and somewhat distort what Wayne Gretzky once said,

You save 100% of the shots that don't happen

Well scream some more it’s about to go down when Matthews and Nylander comes back.

It’s what happens when you have more than one good line. There is only 60 mins in a game....

Well earned ice and he's getting it now. This team with AM back is gonna be disturbing.

Babcock has been doing this his entire career. His obsession with line matching at home takes away from a player's TOI. It's not just depth. If that was it we would not see nights when people like Komorov and Hyman get the most minutes.

If your goalie lets in those chances than you don’t deserve to be a playoff team.

Carolina is an example of that and has been for years.

He gets results. Can’t argue that.

I have zero problems the way he’s been doing it this year, Hyman is good on his line and on the PK. And with the leafs getting no PPs lately it’s easy to see why Hyman is getting more ice time. It’s simple math.

I see you've already forgotten about the pre-Andersen leafs.

I wish my memory was so selective

Regardless, I caught the 2nd and 3rd last night, and there were some high danger chances coming at Andersen last night which contributed to the B's shot count.

I think the only reason they even got a PP last night was because the trip was so blatantly obvious..

Meh, it was a completely different team. Top to bottom including trainers...I don’t see a reason to even dwell on it for a secondz

Riddle me this:

How are the Leafs the least penalized team in the league, along with having the fewest PP opportunities in the league? What makes Leafs games, against any opposition, have so few infractions?

- walshyleafsfan

They avoid contact and physical play....or its very minimal

They avoid it like the opposing players have scabies.

Freddy the goat has scabies already so he gets physical every so often.

You look at the performance he's getting out of the team and individuals and it seems like he might be on to something.
