Speaking of covering all the bases, lets hope GM JR doesnt get trigger happy and trade away the #1 pick. It's looking more and more like a top 5 or higher.

Ive said it before, but always get drowned out, the biggest loss recently was Jason Botterill. The college pipeline dried up and you see the garbage they have replaced it with.

When does Sully start to take some heat? It's not always fair to blame the coach, but life isnt fair and coaches are hired to get fired. Joel Q is out there (for now). Again, Im not sure this is all Sully's fault, but it is easier to change a coaching staff rather than swap out 20 players. Of course, if you have 2 lawn chairs and some chicken wire in net, Scotty Bownman of the 70's cant help you so discussing the coach may just be an effort in futility.

I think Pearson will be a positive when they turn this around and I'm pretty sure they will still turn this around this season. Sounds like Sid will probably return tomorrow.

It would be nice to add a competent dman. Beyond Dumo and Letang, I don't have much faith in the rest of that group. Each isn't totally bad, but together they are the proverbial tire fire.

I agree we will turn this around..but GMJR needs to do something to correct this D corps, Dumo and Tanger are the only SEMI-consistent D guys we have currently. The rest..well they are liabilities to say the least

So many fumbled pucks last night. Maatta, as an attempt to be a right d man started playing with a right handed stick I think.

Penguins need a new coach. All I saw last night after the 4-1 lead was a complete lack of discipline. When Buffalo scored to make it 4-2 everyone watching that game knew the Pens were going to lose.
Teams need a system to fall back on when the game gets in their heads and they don’t have that right now.

If Joel Quenville is available, he should be behind the bench next game.

I thought I read somewhere that JQ is owed like 10 mill from the Blackhawks and if he signs with another team he loses it.

Its entirely possible I dreamt this as well.

Instead of tightening up defensively when the other team makes a push they get more loose and risky. Like they know they have no hope of defending so they just try to go all in on offense.

So Malkin fumbling and giving the puck away of the last two goals, that's the coaches' fault? As far as Q goes, I guess you haven't watch the Hawks play the last 3+ years, because if the Pens fall is Sully's fault then Q was the fault of Chicago downturn, right?

I’m definitely not on the fire Sullivan bandwagon but the two situations are apples and oranges. These Blackhawks rosters have been terrible due to Bowman’s gotta keep the band together mentality. Sullivan has leagues more to work with here despite Rutherford also making a ton of bad decisions lately.

That being said, if you’re frustrated with Sully’s personnel decisions, you’ll probably hate Q’s too.

If Sid does return Wednesday it'll only be the 8th? game they've had all 3 centers. I'd expect that to make a pretty big difference going forward. That being said they weren't exactly great in those 8 games.

I'm not sure if Sheahan gets the 4th line over Grant at this point. That's a problem

I think in both cases the GM is the bigger reason why these teams are were they are at. I didn't have a problem with trading Sheary's contract away but you use the $ to sign Johnson. There wasn't anybody better? Plus, you had to get Buffalo to take another bad signing in Hunwick off your hands. Then you bring back a 42 year old.

Another disaster in net. So, who’s getting the nod tomorrow? Is it time to give Jarry a shot? The drama continues.

I think it’s time to start playing better team defense and then reevaluate the goaltending situation when they aren’t facing a point-blank firing squad every game.
