I have thought Nylander to the Kings makes a lot of sense if Kings embark on full rebuild. I believe the Leafs have the pieces to make a blockbuster offer including Nylander, plus, plus for Doughty.

LA will not contend for another 3 to 4 years as the go through a rebuild. I believe Doughty would be open to a move that would allow him to compete with a contender over the next few years.

Doughty at $11m on the cap poses the greatest challenge in trying to make a deal work.

Yeah, that salary would be hard to manage, given Matthews and Marner looking to be in the same neighborhood.

To have Tavares, Doughty, Matthews, and Marner each making 10+? That's over 50% of your cap eaten up on 4 players...

We would definitely be taking a cap return on a deal involving Doughty. I doubt LA would retain salary given his term but we could take a cap dump+Nylander+ whatever in the deal.

No way Nylander is even in the same league as Doughty. You leaf fans (including Mike not from Buffalo) are in for a treat when you see the package for Nylander.
He is good young player but his stats are inflated because of his line mates and team he plays on. you will need to add top Prospect Timothy Liljegren, first and prolly more with Nylander to get Doughty. Nylander only had one more point the him last year and his a WINGER. Last year their was 30 wingers who out scored him and Doughty was 5 in scoring for Right hand dmen last year and one the best defensive dmen in the league.

He's straight up French, it's a match made in heaven... besides the overall fit on the team, and not being that good offensively thing, but those are unimportant details.
