You definitely called it. I thought they might actually keep him around with all the injuries. Oh well. |

Going from Yeo to Berube is like moving from getting an enema to having a catheter shoved up your junk.
Would be an incredible move if you guys could land Q. |

What's the big deal? I've been speculating on his firing since day one of his hiring. Yeo-puck sucks.

Will Berube be the next Mike Shildt? - Jason Millen
No, but I certainly hope he has a similar effect. He just has more of a track record than Shildt. And the Cards still fell short of playoffs. But I hope he's successful, and I think he will be, to a degree. Enough to make up the hole they have dug? Not so sure.
Will people now start carping about the awful roster construction/synergy, eternal lack of a #1 center, zero cap space, no #1 pick in a deeper than average draft, nor a #4 pick, and a dead last in standings AHL team? Or shall Jake Allen continue to be the whipping boy when the folks upstairs calling the organization's shots mosey along?
Carry on then.
Here's my question: if you are still wildly behind the playoff curve, by say, MLK holiday, does this FO have the stones/foresight to deal Petro and/or Schenn to maximize return from acquiring team?

Was the coach the one not scoring? No
He was laid a hand with an aging Jay bo and that is not good for this team
Put on top of that suspect goaltending to start the season and Pietrangelo throwing the puck to anyone and everyone on a nightly basis you are where you deserve to be
Good Luck to Berube hopefully a different voice and philosophy will get the team going
He is not the long term answer nor is Q
I don't think Chicago will let him go to St Louis I mean they don't want him anymore but they don't want to have to face a Q coached team 5 times a year either |

I really wanted Yeo to work out but it was clear after the Sharks game he just does not have that aspect to be top dog. Some people have it and others don't. I think he has a great mind and probably can be quite motivating when he's not the main guy. Thr proof is in the pudding.
Also, the this core has gone through coaches narrative is nonsense. This is a different core with very few left overs. Some people just are the assistants and not the magicians.
Btw, Andy Murray was a terrible coach. He might have been good in the late eighties and into the mid-ninties but he's garbage as a head coach in the NHL. Now at the college level, that's his level.
So it really does not matter how nice of a guy or good you are when you get paid at a high level to perform. Criticism all the way to ad hominems is going to come when you fail. Hell, be a good person and there will always people attacking you: it's life.
Yeo most successful when injuries decimated the roster and he was forced to play AHLers. Despite the team success the Blues did not trust in the Wade Megans of the world. It's a curious fact that Armstrong had in house speed and failed to accept it. Curious.
I hope they go out and get a good coach. But here's to the Hughes sweepstakes. May the Blues keep losing.
Here's a hard truth: in international play Parayko has dominated but fails for the most part as a Blue. Why? Has our bias from one season caused us to overvalue him?

He was a terrible hire from day one, did nothing in Minnesota to earn a second chance. This is on Armie for hiring him in the first place. |

Poor Allen. 3 goals against in 3 games and only 1 win.
This roster seems to have so much potential... let's see what happens. Q happening? |

IMO the Hawks won't stand in Q's way if he wants to coach another team, even if it is in the division.
I don't think the owner, Rocky Wirtz, is anywhere near as vindictive and petty as his old man "Dollar" Bill Wirtz was. |

Yeo had to go. It was becoming obvious that he wasn't going to be able to turn around this dumpster fire.
Now go get Q or any coach who will bring in a respected new voice and system and you never know. Look at the Penguins from a few years ago. Now saying the Blues are anywhere close to that team but anything can happen. |

With Q still under contract would a team hiring him have to give a pick or picks to Chicago? I haven't read anything on that

I have been saying this for a long time that Yeo is a nice guy but just can not get wins as witnessed when he was in Minnesota. Blues will turn it around, no doubt about it.
