I f**n love Vats!

That mullet and stache.

He does everything really good. Not the best and anything but just solid all around. What a great trade that was. Get rid of a streaky player for a constantly solid dman.

Not to disagree with Todd, but I thought Noesen had a pretty decent game. He had a huge blocked shot at the then of the game and chipped the puck off the wall to set up Taylor Hall's empty netter.

Miles Wood has been struggling for sure. JSD might have been a nice pickup to play RW, but he's not a good center option at this level.

It's nice to see Severson be the player we all hoped he would be after his promising rookie year.

Other than that blocked shot, which was huge, Noesen did nothing but take that penalty. He's done nothing all year. Once this roster gets healthy he needs to be benched.

Wood has been a GHOST all year. What a joke he's become. Pay me! Pay me! Dude forgot how to play hockey. Doesnt hit, doesnt fight. dumps pucks in or loses it trying to carry it in.

He's being exactly what I thought he was when I was iffy on us signing him to his shiny new contract. He's a 4th liner with some speed, and he thinks he deserves 3rd line money. It doesn't matter now, and sure, MAYBE he'll improve.. but if we're ever in cap trouble and Wood stays like this.. no bueno.

I thought you guys would be happier after a win but if you want to hate all our players, it's cool.

I don't remember who was calling on trading Severson because they were done with him too. Now he's a stud. Ironic....

The only cap trouble this team is going to have is getting below Carolina for smallest salary in the league. You can blame that on Wood and his massive Bobby Ryanesque $ 2.75M contract.

lol, you know what I mean. I think he's a 1.75 player, but maybe I'm thinking of cap hits from a few years ago. Right now he's a 4th liner, and we're paying him on potential. I don't think 4th liners have to absolutely suck, so it's OK if he's a decent player, but he produces at that of a 4th line guy.
I doubt we'll be in cap trouble, but for example.. I'd rather have an extra mil to give to Hall rather than pay wood 2.75 instead of 1.75. and yea, I'd rather lose Wood than not be able to give Hall say 11mil instead of 10mil. I know it's different term and all that, but I'm just saying. The money eventually goes somewhere.

Wood hasn't been producing but there have been a lot of games in which he's used his speed to start offense and generate shots. It's just that the entire team is bad so you don't score any goals anyway.

I’m not advocating for wasting money but it’s not going to come down to handing Hall money to get him to stay. Lots of teams will pony up. The issue is building a team around Hall that makes staying in the organization enticing. Wood’s worth is debateable but right now we are better off with him then without. If we had the $2.75M in cap space right now, we’d just have another AHLer in our lineup.

Somehow Pittsburg is paying Crosby, Makin and Kassel. We can afford Hall no problem and Nico as an RFA following that. We have almost $18M in cap space. Hall is already making 6, so at 11 it’s only a 5M add. That leaves $13 for Nico and company. Plus Zajac’s 5.75M will end after that. It’s a very manageable situation for Ray Ray. The teams issue is talent more then money.

Our team is ranked 29th in defense so let's not get ahead of ourselves on how great our d-men are

Well I think that 29th ranking is a reflection of the whole team. Can't blame the D on that.

With that said, will anyone be mad if we finished last? I dont think I will be and I probably welcome it.
