I understand that Eichel and Dalin would obviously be untouchable but if you want someone as good as Bill Ny, then Middlestadt can't be untouchable.

But my preference is, if he is traded, that it be somewhere where the Leafs don't play him 4 or 5 times a year.

The Sabres completely F)*&^ with Nylander in his rookie AHL Season. They roomed him with Cal O'Reilly who was pissed he was not with the Sabres so he basically quit (Must be an O'Reilly thing) and was a cancer in the room both on and off the ice. (Again must be an O'Reilly thing)

Could be wrong, but I think Rielly Hansey have been getting easier minutes and zone starts this year then the Gardiner Zaitsev who I believe have been taking a lot of the Dzone starts. So not sure you’re right about him playing harder minutes then Doughty.

I havent looked at a lot of games, but I noticed Hainsey/ Rielly had more mins vs the Bergeron line then anyone other D and again last night vs The Kopitar.

It would have to be such an overpay for Buffalo (I would probably still do it).

I just don't see how it could work with Botterill saying that the three i mentioned are the future.

According to you, he's half the price, younger, scores more points so maybe he won't. Maybe if what they added to Rielly is worth it.

Maybe it's not Doughty because he wants to stay in LA. Maybe it's Pietrangelo (with an extension). Maybe it's Ekblad. Maybe it's another #1 RHD who becomes available.

What I'm saying is, try to move Nylander for a #1 RHD. But if they can't do that, maybe the move is to trade Rielly for a RHD and Nylander for a LHD (like H. Lindholm who costs the same as Rielly and is better defensively). Or Provorov. Somebody like that.

Either way, the Leafs would have a top pairing capable of scoring as well as defending and overall, the Leafs would be a better team.
