I solved that problem you festering pustule.....I feel pretty damn young working with people in their 90's......and also feel young working with lazy self entitled millennial's so it's a nice balance. - ruttager17

Hindsight is a female dog we could have had him and an extra pick....hell McAvoy would have been a good one - RatedR80
I remember I had a brief period where I was like "maybe he'd be worth the reach because he's a RD" but I never considered it strongly enough to justify claiming it as a "win" in hindsight. Kinda just a reminder that I should follow my gut more 😅 |

So now that the Oil have lost 3 in a convincing fashion, how much further must they fall before changes are made? |

What change? Coach? The players we don't care for likely cant be moved.. Quenneville ? Or will Chia just promote within, like Gulatzan
Maybe Puljujarvi could be packaged for something half decent, RNH for ?
We just aren't in a good position make changes unfortunately |

Not sure myself, and Chiarelli is hard as (frank) to predict. As we've seen with LA and the Hawks, Coach would probably the first change to occur. I also wouldn't be surprised by a panic Nuge/Puljujarvi trade. |

Would we dare a swap of some sort for Phil Kessel...Would prob have to be Nuge to make cap work,, McD and Kessel could be,,? |

Probably fantastic in the short term. But he's too old, his contract is too rich (not to mention his NMC) and the ask would be too high. Nuge serves the Oils needs far better.
I have more interest in buy low situations. Nichushkin, Namestnikov, Saad, Jenner etc. Couple prospects also tweak my interest. Bellows for instance. |

My not-so dear Schweiny, how do you speak about a two-time Stanley cup champion (which is btw. double of your currently iced team), absolute playoff performer and nearly Conn Smythe trophy winner '16 and producer of over 1pts per regular season game in recent years for the Very(!) comfortable price tag of 6,8Mio/year, who got even more optimized working out with Gary Roberts over the summer?

My dear VMM, I wouldn't dream of insulting your exalted franchise by offering such piddling pieces as Nuge/Puljujarvi for the utterly magnificent mammal that is Phil "The Thrill" Kessel.
I'll give you Lucic, Puljujarvi and a pick for Brassard though. |

Aaahhh , this goes down likes Oil on a helping female sweet hand on... you know where.

So you want to urgently trade away your only Stanley cup winner currently capable of playing? Though i think he will be a prime candidate for buyout regarding next CBA, the price to unload such a contract to Arizona or similar would be step high (or involving another bad contract back). |

Tanner Pearson is a safe bet at improvement and he probably wouldn't cost too much. Might be worth adding a Dman like Gunnarsson while we're at it. Puljujarvi and Lucic (1mil retained) for Pearson and Phaneuf? Kassian for Gunnarsson? Nurse for Spurgeon?
As for coaching, I'd be hesitant on Quenneville. Many of the problems we have with Todd are duplicated in Q. Further, hiring him would likely require losing the assistants we added over the offseason. I still like the bets on two of them (Yawney and Viveiros) and would rather keep them and give them a chance to grow together. |

Probably have to retain more than a mill, but I like it.
What are your thoughts on Stevens as a coach? |

Probably would. Maybe we could get away with varied amounts of retention (1mil the 1st year, 1.75 the next two and 2 in the final).
Don't know enough about him but my inclination is 'no' based on the little I do know. |

And its funny that he wants to imply that this would somewhat differ from his current practice... |

So my choices are Phaneuf at 5.25 for the next three years, or Lucic at 6 for the next five years.
Hmmm...
Here you go bud.
