Interesting that Nelson was the extra defenseman... go sabres 3-2 for the win

Bailey’s first goal was a beauty...

I’m legitimately shocked at how underwhelming Guhle has been.

I am not

He was their worst D man in the playoffs last season, and Pilut is way ahead of him on the depth chart now.

Dahlin should be playing 24 minutes a night with the big club, Pilut 18

instead we are talking about the myth Nelson and about to watch Dahlin play 13 minutes with Beaulieu

2+4 for 6p in 12 games, even +/-

Not sure what kind of PP time he's getting. I think Pilut and Redmond may be on PP1

I think Nelson has earned a spot in the top six.

Beaulieu is a question, but I haven't ruled him out. For that matter, Bogo either. I would like to see Pilut get an audition 10 games though, because I sense he has the same abilities as some of the other guys who are in the mix now.

The game was fun to watch overall last night. That line had a lot of good chances, just never seemed to be able to get one by Berube.

The game had a great pace and there was a lot of physical play as well.

Yeah, I always try to get to this game each year. I also like to try to get to a game up in Rochester each year, though with my work schedule and the way their schedule is it's been tough.

Friday nights are hard because I work til 5 and then have to drive up there so it's a tight time frame. Saturday's they tend to be away and if they do have a home game it seems I always have something else going on already.

per spector

"Mackey also reports multiple sources said the Penguins are listening to offers for young winger Daniel Sprong, though it’s less clear if they’re actually hearing anything. The 21-year-old Spring is struggling but still has considerable potential, which could make Rutherford prefer to slow-play this situation and remain patient with the youngster.

NICHOLS ON HOCKEY: During a recent appearance on NBCSN, TSN’s Darren Dreger said he’d be surprised if Sprong isn’t traded. He speculates it could be a small move but suggested Rutherford could have some bigger up his sleeve. "

I still see the Sabres as a trading option with the pens

mccabe and girgens for sprong and something decent

dahlin
pilut
guhle
hickey
samuelsson
cronholm
bryson

all have 1 thing in common

Those were Bailey's first two goals this season

Girgensons has more points in the NHL playing with Larsson than Bailey has in the AHL

Bailey is a career AHLer at this point

Sucks because I had high hopes for him

Patrik Laine will continue to skate on the Jets third line.

Laine has been playing with Adam Lowry and Brandon Tanev. "He’s adapted himself to the two guys he’s playing with," head coach Paul Maurice said Wednesday. "I’m not sure I have that long-term, but it’s the right direction for his personal game. A little harder, more direct." Laine will continue to be an elite scorer no matter who he plays with, but putting him other offensive guys would certainly help. He has seven goals and nine points in 14 games this season. He's on pace to surpass the 40-goal mark again

On the 3rd line ?
