I was talking more about Maatta. - Thorny87
I see him as sound defensively when on and he is still young and may still have a bit more potential offensively. Overall he is slow, but I see him with a lot of value to other teams (he is still only 24). |

I don't follow prospects so I have no idea. The one name Mackey mentioned was Zykov from Carolina. At least I think that's the name he mentioned. - madmike71
I was thinking position swap. Zykov wouldn't make sense to me because he is older with a lower ceiling than Sprong. There would need to be more pieces imo. |

What do you guys think of either? (Just a brainstorming thought if the rumors of Arizona or LA being in on Sprong)
Pens: Lawson Crouse, Michael Grabner and a draft pick
Coyotes: Sprong and Rust
It would provide a shake up. It provides us with Grabner who has been excelling and has 2 SHG this year. He could add additional speed to our team and Crouse could add a young power forward who has 2 goals this season in front of the net (could learn from Horny to improve his skills).
or
Pens: Muzzin, Pearson (another player and or pick added but unsure would love to add Iafallo into this trade, but I am unsure how realistic it would be).
LA: Hagelin, Maatta, and Sprong
Of course I think there would be more to this trade, but it would be swapping of 4 players that I feel could use a change of scenery (Muzzin, Pearson, Maatta, and Sprong). It would provide us with Pearson who is a solid player who is defensively sound, has good speed, and has a very good shot. Muzzin who is a big top 4 defenseman who previously has shown to be solid. I think either Hagelin or Rust would be added in a trade (I can see one replacing the other especially if we can add some offense at LW). I am unsure of the addition from LA maybe Iafallo due to his speed, talent, and potential (could be possible if Maatta and Sprong are headed the other way).
Otherwise I could see a simple 1 for 1 player swap (even though I feel JR is looking for a bigger shake up to occur). - 123Kid
Not bad in terms of value but seem like trades that are made just for the sake of making a trade. |

My personal target would be Puljujarvi for Sprong and a pick.
Oilers are known to be looking for a RW with a good shot that can finish to play on there top 2 lines and have also been known to have made quite a few dumb trades...
From the sounds of things in Edmonton he has played not bad but the oilers just keep dropping him. And his value seems to be WAY lower then I think it should be. |

Wouldn't mind this. Puljujarvi is probably a bust, but so is Sprong, and it looks like Sully is done with Sprong, so why not? |

Pat’s is honestly pretty solid, but definitely not the best.
Next time you need to go to Tony Luke’s. - Rinosaur
Came to suggest tony luke's. |

Puljujarvi's most common linemate is Lucic so he hasn't gotten a fair shake. |

Today the World Chess Championship begins, Italian-US prodigy Fabiano Caruana challenging the Mozart of chess and year-long reigning champ Norwegian Magnus Carlsen... any chess players here?
(And btw., can it be that our Down Under Uber representation is in the penalty box currently? ) - VeryModernMan
I play, also a member on chess.com. I am not very good. Chess was big at my high school back in the day. That was before cell phones. |

He can.
He did on a line with Aho and Teravainen to wrap up last season. |

Another RW though. (not sure if he can play left). I think a Sprong has to be for a D or LW.
I dont have the warm and fuzzies about a Sprong trade. I'm not saying we will be looking at a Forsberg/Erat situation but highly unlikely the return warrants trading him.
I really hope they dont trade Brassard because Sheahan and Cullen's corpse are not good enough. Nobody is giving a young 3rd line C for Brassard. I doubt there is another Center of equal talent with a different skillset/or in a bad situation. |

For what it's worth, Mackey said they are not interested in trading Brassard. They view him as their 3C and will still use him at LW too. |

Not bad, but probably below average for an NHLer.
He's good down low and around the net, but not of much use over most of the rest of the ice from what I can see. |

Meh, so he's basically Pat Maroon. Is there one of your defenseman you'd deal for Sprong or Sprong+? |
