Old Stan riding his daddy's coat tails. Thanks Q for some excellent hockey. No doubt he will be working next week if he wants. Sorry Black hawks - your days are getting darker.

Q will win a Cup elsewhere long before Hawks sniff another one.

While I'm sure he's disappointed from a competitive nature of getting let go, he's probably way better off in the long run, especially after hearing that press conference and McD/Stan talk.

Q did his job. Delivered 3 Cups and got the most out of that core he was given.

Really. Really.

How many did Q win before he got here? How many finals? The key ingredients to the cup, Toews, Kane, Keith, Seabrook, and Crawford....they are still here.

Why do people keep saying this???? He is under contract thru next season do you honestly believe they would release him so he could go there
- Abadseed

Do you think the Hawks will pay him $6 million for 2 years to not coach versus letting someone else pay him?

I think after this team lost to Nashville or should I say got rolled over Coach Q should have been fired then. That being said Stans negatives awful trades, bad contracts, depleting assets with nothing to show for it out weigh anything positive he has done.

Stan was given a golden opportunity with army of young talented players and superstars , along with a farm team loaded with talent, he destroyed this team and did not give coach Q a supporting cast around his aging no movement highly paid remaining stars.

For Rocky Wirtz to allow Stan to be fired shows this man has no business owning a team. Stan should be fired immediately.

I think your going to see the likes of Kane and toews request trades if things continue downward.

Thank you Coach Q for everything you gave to this team and city.

You probably need to add Hossa, Hjalmarsson and Sharp to that list. They not only have not come close to replacing any of the above, but they haven't replaced guys like Shaw either. The number of guys on the roster that are difficult to play against can be counted on one hand today. Is that all on Q?

This one would have been my question in the press conference.

Mr. Bowman, since your first draft in 2010, you have made 79 picks. Of those 79, 3 are currently NHL defensemen (Johns, Clendenning & Jokiharju) and only 1 is playing with the Blackhawks. Would you consider this a good performance?

I think you're leaving out one key ingredient...………….some guy named Hossa !

plus the depth that was on those teams...…...Boland, Versteeg, Bickell, Richards, Krueger, Frolik, Hammer, Oduya, Darlington, etc., etc., etc...……….

If the Hawks get off to a slow start with Colition it could get pretty ugly in a hurry.

Q has to live under the same laws of human existence we all have, and that is life is not fair.

Great point on Hossa and Ham Sandwich for sure. There are 29 other coaches and GM's looking for the same cast of characters. As we see, it does not come along very often or frequently.

Where? Sega Hockey 94?

Hey I get it, he is a great coach. You don't last that long and win that many games. But he is played out here in Chicago. Turn the page....

Or, conversely, they begin playing a more aggressive style, and they become fun to watch again.

I’m afraid you’re right, they sure didn’t do much to tamp down expectations. Our new young coach is going to be feeling the heat.

Can Rocky be that stupid or naive to let McEgo be totally in charge? Rocky have some guts and totally clean house and bring some hockey people in. McEgo is a total self serving con artist.

They need to limit the amount of damage desperate current mgt can still do to this team. They owe the next gm at least that much or else they may not be able to attract a top drawer guy.

“This blog is a thank you to Joel Quenneville.“

Thank you Coach Q, for your part in bringing this team back from the dead! I will forever cherish those three Stanley Cups. I vaguely remember the 1961 Stanley Cup win, and really wondered if I’d ever see another Stanley Cup in Chicago let alone three.

So three cheers for you Coach Q!

He might be, but the value of the Hawks franchise has increased from $200M to $1B since he's been President. Therefore, McD is going nowhere. Stanbo, on the other hand, is on the hot seat.

Well it is never good to see anyone get fired ,I think coach Q brought this on himself . I have felt for sometime Q lost his fire for the game ,and it looked to be on full display in Calgary .

His insane line-ups weak Special teams unwillingness to work with the players brought in by the front office (Stan) and all around stubbornness led to his downfall .

Glad they cleaned house behind the bench ,it was a piousness mix back there . Nobody seemed to be on the same page . So long Q

Great point BP but looking at those names it reminds me that you usually get a supporting cast like that mostly by hitting rock bottom.
