I doubt Rutherford can swindle Chicago into taking Johnson like he did with Scuderi.
Johnson will weigh this team down for years.

At this point, you know with the data available, you have to think it is Rutherford who won't let Sullivan scratch Johnson and play both Ruhwedel and Riikola in the same game. Scratching Johnson at all admits it was a terrible signing.....Is it 2023 yet?

Too bad the Pens couldn't have offered something to AZ for Domi and Hjmarrlson.

I really knew nothing of JJ when they signed him so I assumed those that watch all the games were in the know on him.

So lets say the Pens stink out the season, Brassard walks, Sprong is a bust, Hags is gone, Cullen and Sheehan are gone....thats a lot of holes to fill with nothing internally to replace. Tie that in with Letang being the only competent Dman.

That path you speak of has been well trodden over the years as it seems we are always looking for more from our 3rd and 4th lines. I long for the days when the HBK line took the ice as our 3rd line. Haven’t had anything close since. Fortunately still have time for HCMS to tinker.

Maybe instead of swapping a nobody for nobody Mike Sullivan could inform his team that the opposing players are not suppose to be able to skate freely directly into Murray or Desmiths crease.

I want the Pens to either just go on a winning streak or lose so bad and long that Geno, Malkin and Letang start losing their poop. Maybe someone will clean Hags clock good enough to upset Phil too. We all know no other players on this roster will bat an eye at a losing streak. Oleksiak will play big brother if need be.

I really thought they might take the next step this season after last seasons effort. They have some really nice piecès as well.

Well there's Evgeni Malkin & then there's Geno Machino. 2 different players. :Both however can fire up & lose their poop.

As I said when Gus got brought up, I just don't really know how Zucc helps that much in addressing what this team's issues are. I guess you can take the point of view that there's nothing we can do about the blue line so we should just absolutely stack the forwards and hope than a mega strength will outweigh a mega weakness, but I think we've reached the point of serious diminishing returns when adding forwards. I don't think what it'll cost to get a forward like Zucc or Gus is gonna be near worth the marginal improvement the team makes with them.

As I said when Gus got brought up, I just don't really know how Zucc helps that much in addressing what this team's issues are. I remember Jim Rutherford saying last year they had two deals in place prior to acquiring Brassard and both fell through. Mark Madden reported he knows for a fact one of them was JT Miller from the Rags. He said at the last minute Sather nixed the deal and said "we're not helping the Penguins".

While I can't stand Madden, I can't deny he has legit sources with the Penguins. If this story is true, I can't see them trading us Zuc either.

I thought this was an interesting little tidbit that I never heard anywhere else. Take it for what it's worth.

Because we have a ton of forward depth and the main reason we're losing is because we only have one competent pairing. Adding Zucc to the lineup isn't gonna change the fact that our forwards are gonna have a bad time when Letang's not on the ice.
