Justin Lowe: Hold Me, I'm Scared
That was not the most ideal road trip for the Chicago Blackhawks on so many levels.

The team comes out with a 0-3-0 record putting their losing streak to 5 games.

The Blackhawks now sit at 6-6-3, good enough for 6th in the division. St. Louis sits at just 11 points behind them, however, they are starting to look a little better as of late.

So, what's next?

Walked outside and saw that pigs could fly. Did something happen today with the Hawks?

Nice timing on McDs part. Election day, minimal coverage in the papers and TV.

They last played Saturday and sat on the announcement for 2 days.

I hope it is sooner than later, he’s the guy that assembled this mess with a bunch of kahunts as complementary to your core players , You don’t realize did Stanley cups are one by your third and fourth line get in the trench type players. That must mean we’re going to sign guys like Nick Schmaltz to an eight year $10 million no trade contract. Totally disgusting move this morning.
- wonthecup10

It's too early to tell. Let's give Jeremy some games to see if the players respond. If they do, then it was all on Q.

The move had to be made. Now, lets evaluate after some games. No reason to jump to anything yet.

Ulf is a dope, wasn't very articulate when interviewed between periods so it is no wonder he's gone. Q's blankies finally cost him. Guess Rocky got tired of seeing that pathetic toreador defense.
- savvyone-1

Possible. Though I'm thinking it was a PP where the team killing the penalty often had better looks at Crawford.

The Blackhawks have fired Joel Quenneville and replaced him with Jeremy Colliton

Is this correct, Colliton has 1 yr coaching experience? http://www.hockeydb.com/i...ts/pdisplay.php?pid=62534

Q's shelf life is over as all coaches are eventually. Perhaps Bowman is fired next? It will be interesting to see if the new coaching staff can do anything with the current team. One advanbtage is there are no loyalties to anyone so playing time will be re-earned. The last time the Hawks fired a coach early in the season the Hawks came into their own. Let's see what Colliton and his staff can do, especially in utilizing the guys in Rockford.

That said Q was the best guy for the Hawks for their run until 2015. He will be called into the HOF and he is fully deserving.

Wow, I have no words. When you know a move is coming and bam. It happens (a lot sooner than expected.) I guess Stan was at Rockford scouting Colliton the whole time. Who takes over for him down in Rockford? I don't know anything about coaches down there.
Bowman out to save his job ... how much time does he got left, this season?

- I Am The Breadman

Not long. He'll be moved upstairs next to daddy. Hopefully a new GM will take charge of the rebuild. I do not trust Stan to do it. Steve Izerman anybody ??????

You guys got your wish. The second winningest coach in NHL history was fired by the Hawks.

I don’t like it one bit.

Q was not the problem. If Bowman, Ulf, Dineen and others in the front office aren’t removed, too, that’s weak.

Q Is falling on the sword for all the Hawks’ issues? C’mon. Guess you can’t fire players, so the coach always gets the axe...lame.

About time they made a coaching change. However Stan should also be let go he has more than enough to be blamed about , his personnel, contracts , scouting, over paying low end talent while giving out nvm, NTC to aging veterans and to top it off signing a 39 yr old player .

I hope Rocky fires Stan today as well. Then and only then will the fans and team respond.

I'd like to think that veterans on that Rockford team that did so well last year were consulted as to the coaching skills of Collition and they gave a thumbs up.

They fired the wrong guy. The future HOF coach who is 2nd in the history of the league with 890 wins and 3 Stanley Cups? He's the problem?

The problem is, and has been Stan Bowman, who has continually made the wrong moves, traded the wrong guys, signed guys to unsustainable contracts, thrown around NMCs like candy?

Maybe after 2015 and even some of those trades are debatable. Kind of hard to debate that his trades and signings were awful, prior to that...I'll give you the Kimmo trade. It's really, really hard to debate that he kept the wrong players through 2015.

He'll end up going too here at some point, maybe at year's end if Colliton comes in and can't wring anything out of the current crew. Easier to change the coach than 20 some odd players.

If he can fix special teams, that alone would likely make them more competitive.

An interesting year just got more interesting.

The microscope now shifts to StanBow? .......... The Boqvuists/Beaudins/Wise/Gilberts/Mitchells (Hawks rebuild pieces) will have new and fresh eyes and a modern approache (Colliton is 33 yrs old!) orchestrating the new way/style.

He wanted to go home and so he has. But Chicago isn't far and a GM can do his job remotely so why not.
