Your starting goalie has a GAA closer to 4 than 3 is all you need to know about this year’s edition of the Pens.

I’ve never seen a team as comfortable with losing as this penguins team. Seriously a bunch of pussies.

Haven't watched a game in a while but even the best will lose some bad games.

That said, this is why I am in favor of a shorter season. It will never happen though, but nothing pissed me off more than paying $300+/night to watch a game and only to have Malkin or someone else just coast around. The lockout season every game felt like a playoff game. Much like how the NFL is.

Also, I dont think Sully lasts the season. There is no reason why Sprong should be getting the shaft for Cullen.

That Jack Johnson manoeuvre seems to have blown up as you expected.

Those damn stats were right?!?

12 seasons was enough of a sample size?

Yeah, nothing to do with getting grossly outplayed by the competition.

He was absolutely right, Sissons is a cheating puss...

Btw., was pretty impressed about your Lindholm-add this week (i thought he is on the first line to take faceoffs for wrist-injured Mony, and feared they will put him down centering the 3rd one...), what are the golden nuggets for the one ahead?

Oh, it's super (frank)in funny! It's just also so (frank)in crazy how he can keep one-upping his antics. If this guy wasn't such a talented (frank)in player, no team would even bother him as depth.

Score-wise I'll finish pretty good this week, probably just under 500, but I got effed by some players not playing and the other dude having all the Tampa players.

As far as golden nuggets? I'd say Timo Meir is one of the better value players right now and with the Sharks having four games next week he's a keeper. I'm excited about next week's lineup even though I've revamped it like seven times. Lots of quality players with four games.

I kept toying with it because I was scrimping too much in goal and realized that could backfire, then was scrimping in defense realizing I put too many eggs in the forward basket.

I think the Oilers, Bruins, Yots, Habs, Sharks, Caps, Wild and Sens all have four games. I originally had Kuz, Ovie and Carlson, but I decided against them because they seem to be running cold and of course that will probably blow up in my face when they all of a sudden go on a tear. I had McDavid at one point and a full loaded lineup down the middle, but then opted out.

But I think taking some Sharks and Wild allow you to really spread your money out well. Timo Meir and Kevin Connauton are good nuggets.

Going out on a limb here fellows. I think this teams problems are much deeper than just Hornqvist and Johnson.

Absolutely, but that doesn’t mean the Johnson signing doesn’t contribute to the problem

I would say that the problems are Hornqvist, Johnson, Cullen, Rust, Schultz being injured, Hagelin, Brassard being injured. Murray is looking average at the moment too. Pens are getting absolutely zero scoring from the bottom 6 and they are usually pinned in their own zone as well.

Bright spots would be Simon and Oleksiak with decent production.

Hornqvist wouldn't be a problem if he were playing where he belongs. It makes no sense to have him in the bottom 6 if the guys he's playing with don't put the puck on net. I think Maatta is a bright spot too. After a rough start, he's back to being reliable.....even with his faults.

Also, I'm not giving up on him, but they sure could use some production from Sheahan as well as Rust.

Johnson isn't the reason the Pens lost to Toronto. Cullen is disrespected once again calling him not an NHL player. Shame On you. It's up to the coach to give Cullen some nights off if age is getting to him.

Anyway as Grinder said, the team is playing like a bunch of pussies. This goes for the stars too. I never saw Crosby miss so many passes in one game as last night.

Yeah I dunno, it's tough though, Simon is looking good with Sid and Jake... so does removing him from that line kill his mojo? Honestly they should have let Hornqvist walk IMO.

Cullen is not an NHL player anymore. That dude is garbage at this point in his career.

The Shultz injury is a big loss. Hopefully someone can step it up and soon. I really can't see anyone doing it though.

With Simon looking like he is going to be playing along Sid and Geuntzel. I would like to see Hornqvist with Brassard and Rust. Rotate three lines and just give the fourth line the occasional shift. Of course that is assuming Brassard isn't out for an extended period of time.
