Agreed, he’s AHL fodder at best. Most likely he’s destined for the ECHL.

Well with just a quick glance at the league stats that Washington has the best PP with Toronto right behind .Wash definitely big Toronto not so much . Seem the top 10 are fairly split with bigger teams and smaller equally able to score . As for big shots Seabrook DBC Kane come to mind .

Bottom line to me is Stan brings in players Q refuses to use them or at least in a correct manner .

- oldduffman

Washington- 36.1%
Winnipeg- 33.3%
Toronto - 30.6%

No - he's right - you're an idiot.

If you were a Hawks fan, you would remember the cavalcade of morons they had coaching this team before Quenneville, and when he's gone, you will be WISHING for the days he was here.

Changing a coach for the sake of change is not the way to go.

And if you had even an inkling of what hockey people think about him, you would stop writing these nonsensical posts.

There are no less than 20 teams in the NHL that would fire their coach and hire him on the spot. Believe it, don't believe it - it's the truth.

You really need to stop your b.s. - anyone here with any brains laughs at you every time you post it.

Now go take a Midol.....

Who do you think you are ranting at other posters? Get control of the Hockey Insiders you’ve invented in your head. Q is NOT a genius. That GP thinks he is, is proof of that. That other teams might hire Q is no argument - NHL teams make stupid moves all the time. For example, the Hawks keeping Q so long after his shelf life and his ability to keep up clearly expired.

When the Hawks won they didn’t win because of Q. Even then I was begging for him to not micro-manage and just let the players play. Q has scads of career wins because he, just like Scotty Bowman, has only ever coached elite teams. Remember as well that for the 3 Cups there were also crushing First Round eliminations, even when seeded first, and other crushing eliminations, including one where he got outcoached by Sutter, allowing a weaker LA to take the Cup.

At present Q has idea how to run an NHL team. A PP ranked so low year after year that it is embarrassing - and this in spite of having an All-Workd Kane as well as Toews and Cat. A PK also ranked embarrassing low year after year. A PK that is so passive it is ridiculous. A PK that allows the PP team to keep easy possession giving up scores of goals. A Defensive “System” that is a joke - forcing the D-Men to pinch, when it makes absolutely no sense to do so. The Hawks give up more 2 on 1s in one game than the Coyotes give up in a month. Yes what I have listed is all true...but Q is a genius.

This team is a train wreck - too many aging stars, too few young assets of top 6 ability, players slotted above their ability and SLOW! Now, to be fair, some of this is due to the salary cap restraints they have been under due to winning 3 cups. This is mitigated by the absolutely DUMB contracts handed out by Stanbo that have hamstrung the club and poor talent evaluation in bringing in the correct personnel today's game requires. I get that players should be rewarded for performance, but there did not seem to be a cohesive plan of being able to reward performance against future needs. One of the hardest things for any franchise to do is recognize the need to adapt and change. I think the Hawk recognize the need for change, but do not have the ability or front office personnel to pursue the changes needed. They have become the White Sox and Bulls and - ick - the deadwings. I for one am advocating blowing up this team and going through a rebuild - as painful as it might be. At least if they do this, they may retain their loyal following by not blowing any more smoke up our skirts.
- ksilvy58

Blow up the team - you mean give away everyone? NO ONE WILL TAKE TOEWS / SEABROOK / KEITH as they are with the contracts they have. All you would accomplish is getting rid of the current youth only to be saddled with the same lead weight players that are the problem now. No. Hopefully the Hawks end up where they belong this year - dead last in the Central and hopefully they can win the Jack Hughes lotto -> that is our only possible way out from the massive hole Stan has dug for us.

Glad o see another response memtion how much your AHL trporte is appreciated. It will showing to be real interesting brhinni h next season when the not any longer totally green inexperienced kids on defense get an NHL tecsop ahead of the top choices such as Bowvist and Beaudin. It is quite likely there will be no rush to hey those top choices into the NHL.

I have to admit that I am pulling for Carlsson and Hillman . Both would fit well in a future Chicago blueline set. Their skating ability and sneaky able offensive contribution is a.nice plus for the team. The more skating speed/mobility and size grit toughness the better off the team will be. Next perhaps some Eager Burrish gritty forwards plus a descent size wing could be two type: Knott and Edjsell. Not sure how Highmore fits.Wondering if Samuelson could surprise

- jhawk59

I'm pulling for Carlsson and Hillman as well. Their defensive instincts would complement the offensively inclined Boqvist, Beaudin, Mitchell, and Krys. I would have had Jokiharju on that list if the season hadn't begun yet but he is acquitting himself well to show he can play really solid defense. Still some growth areas yet he's often the strongest defender on the Hawks today.

Beaudin, Mitchell, and Krys could have similar balance and commitment to defense as Jokiharju just with varying skill level. At least more so than Boqvist. I don't see Boqvist horrible on defense as Gustafsson but not in the same mold as Jokiharju. Happy to be wrong, of course.

Gritty bottom 6 forwards like Eager and Burish? Best bets are Noel and Barratt. Noel has a ton of sandpaper but not much skill. Barratt on the other hand may prove to have both.

Love Samuelsson's physicality and he does flash some scoring power here and there. Just don't see him rising above to get an NHL callup.

Knott could be an option in the next year to play bottom 6. He's solid defensively, physical, and good for timely offense.

You seem to have missed the point. They had all your key ingredients and should have been closer to the top with that personnel...yet they were no better than 16th.

Lacking potential top 6 talent as far as forward position. Defense is very deep bottom 6 forwards looking good if some pan out goaltending depth is better. Very weak at the center position.

This also irritates me as well. I really believe it comes down to, too many hockey players who are on the ice for the Blackhawks don't know how to play the game of hockey especially the dmen we have. I've seen defenseman time after time after time skating out of the zone without clear puck possession. In our defensive end we go to where the puck was not where the puck is going to be.

If i were coach for this group i would really dumb it down for the players, man to man, station to station, this year and last year's team always trying to hit the home run, just like the Cubs did this year.

- BetweenTheDots

Honestly, I think dumbing it down is one crucial step towards improvement as a team. Simplify the game and make smart, safe plays.

Kahun has only goal in 14 games. This is actually worse than it sounds because he has been playing with Toews and Cat and getting lots of ice time. Kahun has been a lock there and shouldn’t have been. Saad on the other hand has been moved around like he is on fire. If there are a few words that describe Q it is unpredictable stubbornness.

For no reason, actually going against what seems logical, Q refuses to play Cat with Kane. Everyone agrees Panarin and Kane had chemistry and Cat is the closest player we have to Panarin. LW Right Shot, Great Shot, knows how to get open.

I have always wanted Saad on his off-wing RW. Better angles for shooting and penetrating the net. Put him as Toews’ RW and leave him there for a while. Finally put Cat as Kane’s LW and leave him there a while. Put Schmaltz as Toews’ RW completing a line, as Q does not seem to want him back at Centre. For now leave Anisimov as Kane’s Centre but look at moving someone else in at some point with more speed and stronger fore-check.

- Z3Hawk

Did you mean to say put Schmaltz on LW? Right now you have Toews with 2 RWs.

Don't forget Pirri and Bochenski. They at least had top 6 potential for a hot second.

If there's a Brandon out there to pursue, Montour on the Ducks would be worth looking at for the blueline. Young, mobile, decent on defense.
