SHOOT the puck Blackhawks...... I've counted 4 good opportunities so far where they've tried the pretty pass and end up with NO SHOT at all.

The Hawks opponents sure seem to get a lot of point blank shots with no Hawks players close enough to even swing a stick at them. Game after game. The d-zone coverage is abysmal. It's like these guys haven't been taught their defensive responsibilities so they end up out of position way too often. Either not taught or they're stupid or lazy or both. I hope the coaches are showing video and drilling this into them.

Hawks were meh that period. Need a better overall effort. Ward played well!

Meanwhile in Rockford, they are down 1-0. Worse news is they lost Dahlstrom and Highmore. The latter doesn't sound good. He fell on his arm and left.

I don't see Dahlstrom as a regular on the Hawks, but Highmore could be a big loss this season if the injury is serious.

Hawks look exhausted from last night. Toews barely making it back to the bench after a 20 second shift.

Poor effort on that completely breakaway by Schmaltz. Fire the darn puck or make a move. Too easy going and lackluster Nick. I'm almost getting ready to agree with many about moving him because I'm not seeing the progression on his scoring abilities. Pass first mentality is annoying as heck.

I see Dahlstrom as someone who plays one year while we're waiting for Mitchell, Boqvist and Beaudin. Of course I don't want to see anyone injured (including opponents), but Highmore could end up hurting us if it's serious.

Martinsen gets it on the boards and fumbles it and a couple seconds later the Hawks take a penalty. Can we PLEASE replace Kunitz and Matrinsen - with pretty much anyone.

Schmaltz made like 4 good plays on that shift. Was good to help relieve the pressure. Oilers had our RD working hard for like 2 minutes straight.

Jokiharju is very impressive. 19 years old? Wow. He generally is in the right place and has high skill ability. He's a legit Calder Trophy candidate.
