Saad has 455 regular season NHL games
125 goals in those games
.2747252 goals per game
That's 22.5 goals in a 82 game season

If you include playoffs, 141 goals in 527 games, .267552 per game, for an average of 21.9 per 82 games.

He scored 31 goals once. His next highest total was 23.

Going by the numbers, he is most likely to score 21-22 goals during an 82 game season. And if I were wagering on it, I'd bet he never breaks 30 again.

Hard to just average it out when you consider his playing time a youngster with less minutes. First season or two are usually lower production for most players.

His last 4 seasons

24
31
23

He is capable of 25 goals at his age consider how most players production curves and peaks.

Outlier. Never been near that # before or after.

Apparently you’re unfamiliar with the meaning of the word “capable”.

Last year was as much of an outlier as his 31 goal year.

I understand capable just fine. I also understand the word 'likely'.

There is a false narrative that Saad should be pumping in 30+ each year. While he may be able to do other things, like win puck battles, screen goalies, be responsible in his own end, it is unlikely that he will ever again score 30+ goals.

In Saad's first full season, he averaged 16:28 TOI, not much different than his career average of 16:59. And his highest year of TOI was last year (17:30, which was his lowest scoring season.

Actually it was 24, but who’s counting. The three seasons prior to last season he had 23, 31, and 24 goals, total pts of 52, 53, and 53.

Lol 20 goals and 50 points is a 6 million dollar player in the NHL especially when you consider that he kills penalties and plays in 3 zones.

Brandon Saad isn't a huge problem right now and for the most part if he hits a lul he bounces back fairly well.

The first defensive pairing being the only one that can consistently advance the puck out of their own zone is a much larger cause for concern.

It is still different. I'm just saying there are many factors and lumping in those first couple seasons isn't a great way to get an accurate comparison for most players. Especially when a guy joined the league as his age out and didn't play in the AHL much (only because of the lockout) and was in the NHL during his first pro season.

Have to consider all of this.

Age
Time on ice (SH minutes vs PP time + effectiveness of the PP unit.)
Quality of Competition faced
Line-mates

His best season for goals, he had 6 of them on the PP when usually he only gets between 1-3 powerplay goals a year. How he is positioned and used on the PP can make a big difference, including which unit he is on. Lots of his time in Chicago he has been on the second unit and didn't spend much time getting setup for shots on goal, mostly just providing traffic, which for some players doesn't equal a lot of goals. Depends on their skillset. If Saad was a guy the PP sets up to shoot, he'd probably score more.

Saad ultimately scored at about 70-75% his normal rate last year. He could score 25-30 if he plays hard and it put in a position to succeed.

10 - 15 is more realistic, and of those 5 - 10 will be empty net goals.

He could probably use a couple years of seasoning in RFD. (RF)

I haven't read anything. Gifman yesterday said, "You heard it hear first. Saad has talked to his agent about requesting a trade." He never said where. I looked and came across nothing.

Hard to ignore the Admiral Ackbar potential for tonight’s game, especially if the Hawks pull their usual playing down to their level of competition.
- Return of the Roar

That's what I've been saying. I think they might have a tough game on their hands and rely too much on Crow. I think hawks will squeak out an ot victory. Let's make it 6 straight.

As in our Blackhawk cruisers can’t repel firepower of the Yotes magnitude?

if Yotes win, we will never hear the end of it from Tanner...hell, even if we lose and the metrics tilt to AZ, Tanner will say, AZ outplayed the Hawks, deserved to win, unlucky.

Don't make an innuendo or anything dirty, but this game could like the family guy star wars where the big camel machine whacks it's toe on a rock and trips, holding it's knee. Is there a gif of that ... anyone see that?

If Saad is the biggest dilemma for the 2018-2019 Blackhawks, they will do just fine. The Blue Line is going to be the biggest challenge.

I’d suggest we skip the celebratory goalie helmet bump if Crow brings us a win tonight.
