Anybody know what the issue was with Butcher? He's playing tonight but I never saw anything saying why he left the game on Tuesday. Shoulder, collar bone?

This morning, Amanda Stein, the Digital & Beat Reporter for the NJ Devils, reported that during this morning's skate, Hynes had Wood-Zajac-Coleman on the 2nd line, and Johansson-Zacha-Stafford on the 3rd line.

I hope Stafford is pumped up to be getting the opportunity to play and scores a goal or two...

In the Devils last game against the Dallas Stars, half way through the 3rd period, Butcher was pushed into the boards. After Butcher got up, he looked in obvious discomfort as he skated off the ice and walked right into the dressing room. Butcher did not returned to play. No update was given on his status until this morning. Butcher's shoulder is sore, but he is playing tonight.

Keeping him on the 4th line ensures he plays against the weakest competition and gives us a more balanced attack. I like him where he is at personally. If he sees team's second line / second pairing defenders, it might break his confidence and kill his momentum.
