Plus they signed a veteran keeper in Ward for a reason and in this case it may be to enable the Hawks to ease Crawford back into game shape.

It's been a foggy day here in downtown Toronto.

Happy MJ day my fellow Canucks.

- Justin Lowe

Congrats to you Justin, and all Canadians! It is a fantastic day for North America’s better half. The end of cannabis prohibition nationwide will be a massive boost to the economy creating thousands of jobs and millions in tax revenue. Legalization in CO has also reduced opioid addiction rates.

I’m an Account Manager for The Clear Concentrate (currently available in CO, CA, WA, NV, AZ & MI) and we will be North of the Border soon!

www.clearconcentrate.com

We also have a pure CBD line that can be ordered and shipped nationwide via [url]theclearcbd.com[url]

CBD can be effective alternative medicine for treating chronic pain, neurological diseases like MS, as well as anxiety reduction. There are no psychoactive or “high” effects from pure CBD.

RE: Saadfather

Manchild was a beast 2012-2015. He got married so it’s possible he doesn’t have his game legs from a reduction in offseason training. My concern is his puck control/dangles. He’s got stone hands since last October. Not sure if posted but read about Toews working with Adam Oates this summer. Hawks should bring him in to work with Saad and the PP.

Best team to play for Crawford’s return would be AZ.

Is post back surgery Murphy truly better than Manning or Rutta? Forsling had stretches looking like a top pair Dman last year then fell off drastically. I think Forsling is a lock to get a long look in the Top 6D once healthy.

FINALLY Blackhawks’ hockey again tm!!!

Nordstrom playing 2RW for the Bruins. Seems odd. Either they aren’t as deep at forward as I thought or Nordstrom has drastically improved offensively.
- SimpleJack

Dammit Stan, giving up too soon on guys, not handing out 2nd chances. What an ineptoid! Another one that got away.

In all honesty, I hope he sticks there, even if I hate the Bruins, I just hope he has success somewhere.

Hammer has said, even as a yote, he still wants the hawks to have success and play in the playoffs, the fans deserve it. I paraphrased, but he's such an awesome guy. I miss him.

My 2 favorite things that he's said: one was from a couple of years ago, authentic fan or something, where a lady got to go to a practice and take pictures of the guys. Hammer skates up to her, and she says my best friend loves you, you're her favorite player. He said in response, that's odd. And when he took a puck right by his eye and said it wasn't that bad, when it was swollen and 3 different colors. He's a hockey player's hockey player and a first class guy.

Went to WHL Tri-Cities at Seattle last night and got to see some prospects for
the 2019 draft. Was trying to watch two guys closely that Wiz has on his board:

Sasha Mutala, Tri-Cities, Wiz Draft #37, RW, 6-1, 194
Jake Lee, Seattle, Wiz Draft #71, D, 6-2, 216

https://www.draftsite.com/nhl/mock-draft/2019/

Just some notes from what I saw.

Sasha Mutala:

Very smooth, effortless skater. Focus is on the pass, can make good passes to advance the puck and also to set up scoring chances; passed up shots to set up others. Did not see him take a shot so didn't get an impression. Puck carry was mixed; got pocket picked for a breakaway but also had some good carries. Can find the puck in traffic and set up scoring chances. Was playing third line right now and so some skills may not have shown well. Needs to add strength (as most at that age do) as he was knocked off the puck a couple of times. Wore a "A" so may be a developing leader.

Jake Lee:

It seemed to me that Lee was very proficient as an ideal stay-at-home big Dman. Good positioning and almost always makes the smart play. Played on the PK and must be in good condition as he took a shift of well more than a minute on one penalty kill. Also played point on the PP but seemed reluctant to shoot and passed instead. Skated the puck out of the zone several times this game instead of passing; generally good carry but almost lost a puck right in front of his own net on one occasion. Did not see him take a shot, and he will need to add a good point shot to round out his game. Plays the physical game well. If he continues to improve I think he would be a reliable second or third pair Dman and you could just plug him in - set it and forget it for a number of years.

Question for Wiz, Justin, JJ, others:
I was curious how a real scout approaches a game and records impressions if checking out one or two players. What are the main things to look for and what kind of notes are taken? What conclusions can you reach by only seeing a single game?

Frolik a healthy scratch, comes back and scores 2 goals against Boston.

Hope Saader can follow suit if indeed he’s a healthy scratch tomorrow.

Yes what an amazing day for Canada. We have no economy, we have a Prime Minister that is a laughing stock domestically and internationally, we have no security and we have forgotten how important our Armed Forces and Veterans are, to mention just a few disappointing issues - but wow man we have pot - how freakin’ wonderful.

Let me guess, our schedule is after waiting 4 days, then play 3 games in 4 days. Nice balance

I hear you. We live in a third world nation with the biggest buffoon of a leader in North America who is an international laughing stock. We need the pot to get through each day in this god forsaken country.

Justin I hate to sound like a negative NELLY , but let's be honest Saads time in Chicago is no longer welcomed. We don't need a 6 million dollar head case who shows up once in awhile. I feel his attitude and preparation is affecting the ,line of Kane and schmaltz .

Stan has a golden opportunity to improve this team and in my opinion Saad , Anisomov, murphy , Forsberg and rutta should all be shown the door..

Duchene would look great in a Indian head sweater, maybe a package deal of saad and anisomov for Duchene that free up over 10 million and would allow the hawks to resign both schmaltz and Duchene. Schmaltz would move to the wing position.

Why? Turns out he can play 3C as well as 2C and if he had some linemates who could score a little as well would give the Hawks an efffective 3rd line. If Saad is able to figure things out, he can either go back to the 2nd line or play on the 3rd with AA

Totally agree, nice to know there are some Arty lovers here. I like him where he's at, come on AEL_FOX, I'll say it with you, he needs Sikura on his wing. I wouldn't mind if Saad played with him either.

His salary doesn't matter: he's either productive or he isn't.

No question - for most of the last year plus early this season he isn't.

But:

He's 25 years old (ok, 26 in 11 days) - with proven ability - he had been consistently in the 2+ goals / 50+ points for several years both here and in Columbus until last season - no reason (other than injury, which hasn't been brought out) he can't regain that form.

I'm not going to say it's puck luck - even the hockey gods wouldn't keep someone on that ledge for that long - but there is something wrong that (given his history and his skill level) should be fixable.

Can't give up on him this early in his career.

Drink the kool aid much! Saad is a bum! He's a headcase and washed up. I hope the Hawks trade him now just like I wish the Hawks had traded Toews last season when he sucked or when Kane should have been traded in 2013 when he hurt the Hawks brand. I have had it with the blackhawk organ-I-zation coddling players. And while we're at it get rid of the Chelsea dagger goal celebration song, it's irritates me!
