Underlying problem... Which would be ?? Coaching in your opinion -

It was def. frustrating to watch Stars take a ton of liberties with JG last night.

F wise I think the kids have been ok so far. Rakell needs to wake up, he’s sucked this season so far.

D wise I think Brandon / Cam / Josh - need to be way better. That 3rd pair ouch also.
Hampus has been solid.

We’ll know more after tonight. Both teams played and traveled so let’s see what shakes out.

If you're suggesting a coaching change, I'm all in. I cringed when Carlyle was announced as coming back. As the saying goes, "you can't teach an old dog new tricks."

I'm not even calling for a change, necessarily. Could Carlyle adapt a little bit to how he plays with a lead? He seems to turtle really quick.

Last night's 2nd period was ironic, that's how the Ducks used to play. Supposedly, the league was moving away from that type of play but the refs let it go last night. I know the coaches are preaching puck possession but sometimes it's okay to just ice the puck and slow everything down. We have to remember, there are a bunch of kids out there trying to figure this out. There's going to be bumps in the road.

Last year, Manson would have been all over Benn, I have the feeling they've told him this year not to fight unless there's no other recourse. The Ducks need Manson healthy, and they league was supposed to be up on protecting the goalies.

It's time for Randy Carlyle to start an involuntary retirement. Or coach for (insert rivals name here).

And while I may in the minority here, I think the Ducks need Nick Ritchie in the lineup. Yes, he can take stupid penalties, but he's also not afraid to hit, and clear out the crease.

Well we can always go back to the old system of defense first. Slowly moving the puck up the ice and tring to keep possession buy using superior size and strength to get position in front of the net and score dirty goals. But you guys seemed to all hate that system and wanna fire randy for using it. So I don't know what to tell you except make up your minds.
This is the process of changing systems. There's going to be bumps in the road. Dallas applied pressure to us in our own end and we coughed up the puck. There just going to have to work on it in practice.

Nick Ritchie on the team is not going to suddenly transform the Ducks to a slow plodding defensive first team.

Ritchie is a unknown right now. Hard to say if he would do well in a system that's more about skating and pushing the puck up the ice. I think he might do the same. Because when he gets up to speed he's hard to stop. Just like comitous. The big part is his conditioning. Will he be ready. Don't know. Have to see. And Ritchie still has a lot to prove. This would have been a really good time to show what he's got with all the injuries on this team. Oh well. Missed opportunity.

Ducks are offering him $2.5 million on a bridge deal for 2 years. Ritchie wants $5 million over 7 years. If this is the case he will be traded. I heard The Ducks number from John Shannon of TSN. My brother heard the Ritchie number from some dude on something called Hockey Talk. I've never heard of it so i don't know how accurate those Ritchie numbers are. In any event, he's not budging and the Ducks are winning without him so I still expect him to be traded.
Speaking of WINNING! how about that bounce back come from behind win tonight all you haters!?!?!? I can't tell if this is a sign that the Ducks are a pretty good team or that St. Louis is a pretty bad team. Probably a little of both.

NR is certifiably insane if he thinks he getting more than Raks in annual salary.

And last night was Sweeeeet. Love that kid line.
Isac / SS / Sherwood it generated lots of pressure and had speed. That’s a keeper line.
RM looked way better than in preseason. And D keep the shots down, even though there were a couple schetchy stretches.

The bottom line is without Getzlaf the team is in trouble, no Getzlaf and no points for Rakell, real simple. Gibson is team MVP, I think he is top 6 in the league. Strangely he has not been injured yet, especially after a 30 shot period, just a matter of time.

Ritchie, who does he think he is? I would trade the mofo because if he ever scores 20 he is gonna want 10 mill per. The Nylander situation is a little different, the guy is probably worth what he wants but Mathews and Marner are holding it up. I think Nylander gets traded in the next week or so, Kapanen brings more to the line anyway and skates like McDavid.

It is crazy to think what some of these players are getting coming off entry level deals. Jack Eichel getting 10 a season? Boston did it right, they got Marchand, Pastrnak and Bergeron for a total of $19.666 million

So apparently all that $5M+ stuff was BS. Ritchie signs for 3 years @ ~1.5M AAV.
