Can't the Devils offer sheet him instead of trying to trade for him? - Devils4ever
It depends on his RFA status, there is a group in which you cannot offer sheet. I don't think he's part of that group but it's possible. Also, the amount of money you'd offer him might be in the range of 3+ first round draft picks which is really not worth it. |

But you know what you are getting from him as opposed to a 1st round pick that may not play a game in the league. I know either way that it's most likely not going to happen but it's nice to dream. Lol |

This argument is not a good one. 1st round picks are very very valuable |

Dea has been a pleasant surprise. Think he's been effective in that 4th line role and getting two goals so far is very nice. |

Agreed. I like his game a lot. Do we call him a prospect? |

I don't think so. He's like Coleman in that he spent a lot of time in the AHL and eventually worked his way into a depth spot by playing well defensively and being a good skater. |

Need to be better on the power play. I'd like to see the units changed up some.
Noesen needs to be moved off that 2nd line. Give Wood a look with Zacha and Johanssen. |

Huge game by Kinkaid. Devils didn't play great in front him and he made a lot of big saves. |

Zacha is terrible today - devilspep
nah, he's doing things that don't show on the score sheet
I'll take this W with satisfied smile on my face. Way to make it happen. |

Great win and Kudos to Kinkaid. Last year as improved as they were, they'd probably have given up a goal at the end. |

After 3 games, if Bratt were to return to the lineup tomorrow, I would send Quenneville back to Binghamton. It would make no sense for Quenneville to sit in New Jersey while he can be playing in Binghamton.
Dea has played well and has scored two goals, Boyle has been great winning face-offs and has scored a goal. Basically just about the entire team has played well and they have won the three games they have played. Quenneville has little to show for himself to make his case to stay, while playing on the 3rd line, except for being +2. Hey, Lappin has scored 4 goals in 4 games for the Binghamton Devils, so he making his case to play in the NHL. |

Boyle has been playing wing. Other then that I think Quennville will be the odd man out either way. |

Was at the game today, very fun/exciting third period.
JQ or Noesen will sit when Bratt is back (assuming it's soon). Can't see them taking out Dea with how he's played thus far and there's no way they'd bench Boyle. As of now I think I'd keep JQ over Noesen, just because I've really liked what I've seen out of the third line as constructed, even if JQ's been a bit invisible. |

Nylander wants $8-8.5mil. The picks have be NJ's original picks for the 2019 draft though. They have their 1st and 2nd, but PHI has NJ' 3rd. NJ traded it to EDM for Maroon, then PHI acquired it by trading Cooper to EDM.
So NJ wouldn't be able to.
$1,339,575 or less No compensation
$1,339,576 to $2,029,659 Third-round pick
$2,029,660 to $4,059,322 Second-round pick
$4,059,323 to $6,088,980 First and third-round picks
$6,088,981 to $8,118,641 First, second and third-round picks
$8,118,642 to $10,148,302 Two firsts, a second and third-round picks
Over $10,148,302 Four first-round picks |

JQ has more "talent" than Noesen but N brings that hockey grit that we cant afford to lose and JQ isnt exactly showing is stuff. So I hope JQ sits. |

I love Nico but is there any chance he isnt the best player to go in the first round of that draft ? I know its early and I know we got a heck of a player in Nico but man has that kid in Van looked dominant. Kid seems to be only 160 lbs though but still he has looked lethal out of the gate so far. |

K-Palm on pace to for 164 goals! I'd love to see him break 30 again, but I'm just glad to see our top line look like a legit NHL first line. |
