Would be nice if that Formenton turned into a Cogliano type of player. Fast and does it all, gets his 35-50 points a year. Great piece to have. Only watched one sens game this season but that's what I've seen. |

the damming thing is that in the off season there was plenty of Goaltenders they could have signed in case Anderson was no longer able to play and they did nothing, now with every loss COL gets a little close to hughes and that will piss off/anger the fans.
Ryan is also finished as a player, he was the cause of the 5th goal that finished the sens chance of a comeback by being lazy and not trying.
It may be a benefit if OTT does not play Ceci and Boro and call up Wolanin.
Lajoie...wow could be one hell of a find there for OTT
Tierny if contributing big time, tied for 1st for points on OTT with Chabot right now.
Formenton has played well, just no puck luck so far, he will get his 9 games and we will see, tho if he wants to stay he will have to produce. Ryan should be put on the 4th line and move up white to the 3rd with Tierny and Formenton. |

I believe Formenton should be returned to the minors as it is best for his development. The only reason to keep him in the lineup is that he is one of the best 12 forwards in Ottawa's system right now.
I have been blown away by Lajoie's composure and ability to read plays. I am optimistic that he will be a solid top 4 defenceman in the future. At this point in time, he appears to be our best draft pick from the 2016. |

Yeah I like Formenton but i agree. He has a couple more games but as of right now it would be best for everyone. Can he play in the AHL, or is he too young?
I realize it's early, but As of right now it looks like a season we expected. They're going to lose a lot of games, but the young guys are providing entertainment, and it 'll be fun to watch several of them this year as they improve. I think they'll continue to score goals, but give up quite a few as well. Lajoie and Chabot looking good so far.

I must admit I am underwhelmed with both Ottawa's goalies so far. As for the oxymoron "defense", what is it with all these "offensive defensemen" anyway!? What I would do for a few stay at home D men.
Back to Anderson and Condon, when the goalies get shellacked each night with over 40 shots, what can one expect? These two guys must be so discouraged by the defense and are probably on the verge of giving up. This has been a reoccurring theme over the years in Ottawa: Defense sucks and goalies collapse.
I agree wholeheartedly about the kids' play - I am so impressed with their poise and ability to make a difference. At least it will be fun to see them play and dream about the future. |

I dont think ceci is as bad as people think. I feel he's placed in situations he just isn't good enough for, because there's no one else.
This means Harpur may be put into the mix. Which is worse. - david22
I agree with the bolded part........the situation he's put in, that he isn't good enough for, is being an NHL dman |

Jaros is being called up ,but this will almost certainly result in Harpur getting more ice time.
Which imo is worse. Although he might turn it around, but I doubt it. |

I saw it as a straight Jaros for Ceci swap. I do not expect 7 defencemen to dress.

Both Condon and Anderson have been crap so far this year except for one good game by Anderson against TOR. Their rebound control is atrocious, and there are at least two goals let in per game where you say any NHL-level goalie should stop that 999/1000. The goal Condon gave up against the Flyers where it just slow rolled in, and both goals by Laughton were atrocious.
It's not even the D, in most cases they're sound positionally or being covered off by high forwards. It is literally all the goalie's fault so far, especially the last two games.
Just waive Condon and call up Gustavsson already and fire the goalie coach, it certainly can't get any worse than what we have right now. |

I F**king hate this team.
Had they kept their 1st overall pick we'd actually have something to root for this season (a top pick) but right now is just depressing.
Chabot is amazing but after that who else is this team going to build around. They never should of given Melnyk that organ |

I can't even believe the spot they've put themselves in with their goalies.
Both guys have 2 years left. I think Condon can be moved next year as its a low cap hit with a year left at that point. But who in their right mind will take Anderson?
The team needs a goalie who can make a big save and it's nowhere to be found. The D is obviously spotty, but its just not looking good whatsoever.
Ceci should be moved as soon as possible. Harpur I am not even going to acknowledge - he's horrid. He turned 2 average playoff games in 2017 into all of this, so you gotta give Harpur some credit LOL |

Bringing up Gustvasson would be a huge error. Let him play and hopefully show solid numbers in a development league. I would think at least 1.5 - 2 full seasons before you see him.
They are likely riding these two goalies out for this season unless you can somehow trade one. You MIGHT be able to get lucky if Florida loses Luongo long term - you could find a fit there for Anderson. Likely taking back a bad contract though. I wouldve loved to see Lehner back here. He is a starter with upside. On a bad Buffalo team, he put up decent numbers. He has experience playing behind garbage LOL! |
