Well done boys, yet you both seem to have some comfortable divisions, in mine the average is currently ~340pts. But ok, in the end its qualifying for playoffs (wildcard) and then hopefully anything can happen... my wish-opponent for first round: Feds(erov)91.

That doesnt really matter all that much in head to head weekly formats. What happened the weeks before dont matter in the current week.

EDIT: Also, the average in my division is 410.44

Well, not really, as only the division winners gain 26 direct playoff-seeds, the other 102 go to overall points "wildcards", so consistently scoring bigger seems to be very important still.

> EDIT: Also, the average in my division is 410.44

Thats immense, then there is tough opposition ahead.

Yes obviously what happened in the weeks before matter to the end of the season and making playoffs. What I meant was the point totals mean nothing week to week. Just like in head to head yahoo fantasy, how well your players did the week before doesn't matter one bit in the next week.

Anyone else really like what they saw from Sprong last night? He was one of the positives for me. I think the kid is gonna stick. Of course in saying that, consistency is the hardest thing in the NHL, he's young and doesnt have as slack a leash as the vets.
- MattStrat

That bloke that got lucky with the pass to Philbo looked ok as well. I think they'll keep him.

I listened to the game for a period & Sprong wasn't mentioned much which is probably a good thing. Last time I looked (haven't checked any stats), he was over 10 minutes toi with a while to go. So at least he got some time to play instead of the doghouse 4 minutes.

Guentzy can finish to can't he!

Rino is already making big ground on you, and yourself suggested what the last will have to do...

Funny sidenote: In my division there is one simply rolling over the roster of last week, and he is easily winning his match.

What really frightens me is Crosby's impression in the first three [home-]games...

From what I saw he looked good. Dare I say that Cullen has looked pretty bad this young season? He's behind the play a lot. I'm not sure how playing wing is affecting him.

I thought the Cullen-Sheary-Sprong line was the best line vs the Habs. The other 2 games Cullen wasnt noticeable at all which can be taken as both bad and good I guess...but for a 4th liner I think its more good than bad to think that...if that makes any sense to you haha.

Yikes. You don't have to like fancy stats to think this is a problem. Kind of like when a player's +/- is insanely glaring one way or another.

Keep in mind these are supposed to be two offensive defensemen.

Sheary is indeed having a nice start with Buff.

Well, there was a time not too far ago, where you answered the question regarding the NHL's best three centers comfortabely with Crosby/McDavid/Malkin, but Sid saw a heavy 5v5-drop last year and this trend seems to continue, especially as we now had just three relatively easy home games - though the sample size is still very small.

It may not even be Johnson. Schultz has been putrid and pairing those two together seems like a terrible idea even if they're both playing well.

Fact Check:

Crosby had the 3rd highest on ice 5v5 xGF/60 last season of NHL regulars.

His production was down by his standards because his PDO was 97.8 which was the lowest of his career.

That's pretty awful. I was afraid of that pairing and it seems to be founded. Was there any stats on the RIikola pairing? He didn't look all that great but he's been out of game action for 2 weeks.

In 16 mins with Oleksiak
(for-against)
Shot attempts: 17-20
Shots on goal: 8-11
Scoring chances: 8-7
High Danger shot attempts: 1-3

Not great but I would say very acceptable for a 3rd pair in a game in which score effect had a large impact late in the game.
