It isn't even sheltering him. I would have zero issues if McLellan sheltered Puljujarvi and gave him more offensive zone starts. It is his decisions to demote and reduce icetime whenever he believes Puljujarvi has made a mistake that are damaging his development. For whatever reason Puljujarvi has a tight leash while players like Caggiula get to run amok.

Exactly, not even in the same universe. The cast alone was legendary and perfectly matched.

The guys on sportsnet were saying that Puljujarvi was on the 4th line tonight. They didn't actually mention their source though (maybe lineup at practice?). I sure hope not, that will be a major mistake. The guy was fantastic in pre-season and they're already demoting him after one game.. I don't wish the Galchenyuk treatment on any player
