No doubt. Gudas is playing much better so far this season. Now we just need Provorov and MacDonald to get going. It was Sanheim who flubbed the clear.
- MJL

Yes it was sanheim. I swear to all that's holy I will refuse to watch another game this year with this coach if he sits sanheim for that mistake. let the kids go and learn the freakin game without constantly looking over their back with some stupid mistake. I as a fan expect them to make mistakes. Its how they respond afterwards is what I look for.

Hak not a good bench coach, maybe worst in NHL. He may actually be better with players one on one in practice sessions. I trade A Mac with your hab’s Weber. A Mac look spent and he was already mediocre.

A Mac is finished in this high skilled no hit no grab speed League. And he was never good to begin with.

Only one more year after this one. Should have traded him this offseason when we had the chance. I am assuming we had this chance, even eating some salary I would have pulled that trigger.

To unload some of their massive cap hits. But the long term ramifications of the Weber deal and his long term injury problems, Hex will never do it. Despite fail Mac make almost 6 millions now.

I would seriously consider buying out both amac and weise this off season. cap it is minimal.

YAY we won!!!Still gave up 4 goals though. Mcdud looks like he did a few years ago. Soooooooo whos the number 1 pick this year in the draft? I honestly think we take a step back this year and might be a rough one.

Weber has been named captain anyway, and the Habs are too obtuse to go into a complete rebuild. You can bet that once Weber is back on the ice, some teams like Toronto or Edmonton would love to give a good prospect and/or a good pick to add Weber on their team. Habs don't need to shed salary and they don't need AMac.

I see the offense that Hak wants to run, in genral i think he has the players with the speed to run the pressure offense he used in college...my worry is that for what ever reason the D is not where it needs to be (some guys are still injured (AMAC and Provy)) and Hak does not have the defensive zone coach/strategy yet baked into his offensive plans...I think with time it will come as the forwards get their legs under them as the season goes on, but right now with mid level goal tending, the D will be exposed every game becasue the coach doesn't have the 200ft game worked out yet...there are flashes of it, but every mistake at this point has ended up in the back of the net...Travis K said it best after the second period, Ottawa was playing undisciplined and chasing them around and they would take advantage of that all night...teams that don't do that and play sound team D will leave the Flyers D exposed and will be tough games until the coach gets the team playing fast AND playing sound defensively.

Gudas has been good and I am glad he is back to 2017 form, not last year...

At least 2-3 times NoPa has had a head injury...worried long term for him...

I think Weiss could be replaced with one of the kids and it would be an upgrade...he was good in some spots on the rush, but also made some mistakes...no more than I would expect if I had a rookie in there, so I don't know why they don't pull the trigger...

Laughton looks like he is finding his stride and I guess we will wonder what he could do with some more talented wingers, but I don't fear having the 4th line out this year...more skill than last year...

4 games in and some pluses and minuses...but until they figure out the team D I don't see the 100 points lots of people predicted...there is potential, but we won't score 7 every night and with the lack of team D it is what we need to win right now...

I know they don't want to do it, but if Patrick is out long term I would seriously consider Giroux back at center. They have more depth at wing right now. Could reward Raffl with a 12-28-93 line again. Really there are plenty of options to try. 21-14-17 is a line that was used in the playoffs. Raffl and Laughton have been playing well, but it is also important to get Konecny and Lindblom going.

I could see them doing Vorobyev/Weal 2C/3C too. I just really think Giroux back at center for a few weeks helps them more if Patrick is out for a bit.

so is all of the "laughton isnt any good" talk finally over?
is he officially not a bust?
big blow to team negative
laughton has been one of the best and most consistent players on this team since the playoffs last year.
the kid is good!! late bloomer but he is showing his worth now.
I've always been a laughton fan so this pleases me....
carry on

- sILKAsSINASALO

1. Never
2. Jury still out
3. They will never go away. The force is strong with those clowns, er I mean people.
4. Can only score on open nets
5. his worth is worthless
6. you two should get a room
7. I will NOT carry on.

+/- relative to my general feelings on a player

+ Raffl - playing very physical and has chances. I think could finish better himself and with better linemates. He has been strong on the PK usually

+Laughton - similar to Raffl. Skating very well. continued to like what I saw from him at wing

+Lehtera - playing well on a line with 12 and 21...speed and offense still a major issue, but he's been making up for it in physicality. I expect things to take a bit of a turn if he moves up the lineup

+Gudas - making much smarter passes (not without some bad decisions) and has turned the forwards into instant offense several times (Jake's 2 on 1 goal notably)

+Hagg - he has done a much better job of being active in the offense. I don't think he has played much better on the defensive side, but getting down low in the OZ is making him more valuable

Everyone else is playing as expected...doesn't mean they can't clean things up but it has only been 4 games

-Sanheim and Provorov can and should be playing better. Sanheim has made a couple poor reads and been a little weak on certain plays. He has offset that with some nice aggressive plays too, but can be better. Provorov is obvi.

-AMac has been poor to very poor. I don't think it is just injury related, and think last year was more of an anomaly than this year will be, but we will see.

goaltending is very average if not below average. d is just horrible outside of ghost and would expect provy to round into shape shortly. most of it due to youth on the back end. our forward group outside the top 6 is still putrid. I don't think our 3rd line center(spelling I wont even try)is below average in the regular season. 4th line is whatever. our coach is just horrible, again. The future is bright. But I don't see us actually being a threat until 2019-2020 season and I think that's a year early.

The PK HAS TO GET BETTER? RIGHT!?! RIGHT!?!
It was pretty bad last night. If Raffl hadn't been there we would have been toast. On a different note, I thought the Lehtera hit was fantastic to see. They showed some emotion and we won.
But the 4 goals worry me. A Lot.

I'm wondering if N Patrick was injured to some degree already. The high stick may have hurt but I'm not convinced that was the sole reason he left the game. Hopefully it was the flyers just being overly cautious.
Either way it is concerning if it is indeed a comcussion. He must have a soft melon.

Only one of the goals came on a chance that appeared stoppable; a Brady Tkachuk wrister from the top of the right circle using Travis Sanheim as a partial screen.
- bmeltzer

Huh, I thought that was a goal-scorer's goal - a well placed wicked wrister.

What I did notice about Pickard is that he seemed somewhat scrambly. Last night was the first time I ever saw him play so maybe that's his style?

It was a good shot, but should've been played better by Sanheim and Pickard. I would imagine Pickard was screened, but tough to tell from the TV angle.

I don't think that's accurate. He hasn't produced but he's been heavy on the forcheck. Has made some plays. they just have finished anything yet.
- J35Bacher

That's my take on him, too.* He just needs a couple to go in.

Jori with the vicious cross-check last night struck me as a man that knows how to deal out retribution if he doesn't get his money, er, I mean, if you hit one of his teammates.
