This is the dumbest rumor in a long time EK. Just shows how much effort you take in making rumors up. Why would sabres want Nurse. He would be a third pairing on our team. He is not better then scandella . He is comparable to McCabe but Dahlin and him are playing well together. Also salary plays big factor. Sabres have 700,000 right now. So you will have to take someone back.

That being said I know Dman are worth a lot, Especially you dman under contract and will still be RFA. But he hasn't proved anything yet in NHL. If you look at the Dman taking after him he has be a bust. Dman taken after him are RISTO, Josh Morrissey, Shea Theodore and Ryan Pulock. He is still young and is getting better but is he actually worth. A first? prospect and first? why would Oilers take they unless they are tanking for Good american leader like Hughes? Why would Sabres trade Risto for anything less. If we trade Risto then our only RHD would be casey nelson. I know Dahlin is playing on right side but is that a long term answer and do we want him playing 27 mins a night already?

I agree that Risto should not be moved in any way, shape, or form towards getting Nurse, but Nurse would be a great addition depending on what JB gives up. Even though it is Edm they are not moving Nurse for spare parts.

Risto should not be moved because he is a young Dman with a ton of potential. There have been struggles, but you don't just give up on a guy like that. I would make the same argument for keeping Nurse (without getting into a direct comparison). Yuong Dman, with some toughness, which is also a good thing to have, and becoming more rare in the league.

Not to mention that most of Ristos struggles are because he was playing 30 minutes a night. Now it is a bit more spread out. He also put on like 15 pounds and looks like a damn UFC fighter
