No complaints that period. Ward proving to be good early. Come on prove me wrong. I really want to be wrong!

It's really too bad Schmaltz didn't retire mid game. Damn.

That was a much better period of hockey, 7 has got to stop those cross ice passes out of the d zone they are anticipating it

If we win, we aren't the central division bottom feeders.

Well. You will be surprised, or even shocked, to find out he is still playing NHL hockey for the next dozen years. Wow.

Take care this however you want: after Seabrook was checked hard by Marion and Blues scores off that play, next shift Martinsen leveled a Blues look rookie. A team needs players who do this.

I am not saying Hayden would not do this. Hayden has more skating scoring probability than Martinsen. But hungry players tired of minor leagues, which really has no bad part to his game, a heck of a dlwoshot, will deliver checks....should be in line up against Blues.

There is this question, however: what about Hayden game is Q want to see imrivement or stir up.

Also: FYI who have not peeked yet/Rockford lost, 5-2, opening night on road to Cleveland. I did not see a lot of talent on paper in Cleveland lineup. D Sikura, assist, his brother a goal
Another brother act broken up, as Terry the elder Broadhurst back with Rockford

Of note was youth on Rockford blueline. Yes, Carlsson is here; he scored. Others on blueline crew: Tuuola, Snuggerud, Dahlstrom, A Johnson, Rydash. Not much toughness there perhaps although I do not know much about Rydash and A Johnson as far as toughness

Ruuta and Anisimov are having a bad night so far. Both got the cement shoes going. Really impressed with Luke Johnson so far. ....should be wearing 65.....very Shaw like.

Now that is what I'd be shocked at. If Schmaltz isn't in Chicago for the next...at least six or seven years I'd be shocked.

Rutta had some good plays that period. I still want to see Davidson, don't get me wrong. Good placement and stick positioning. Just trying to stay positive.

Hard to bring me down. Kruger scored! Probably his only one, but still.

Rutta has gotten better period over period since the first period against Ottawa. I like Davidson, too, though. I've liked him since his days in Edmonton. They should have tried to keep him around

What are the chances Q rides the hot hand in Ward for tomorrow against Tor?

Hayden lays big hits and plays a heavy game. Having Martinsen in there isn’t going to stop the Blues from running people. Glad he hit someone. He hasn’t impacted the play on the ice. He isn’t a good hockey player and shouldn’t be on this roster. He has a horrible turnover and terrible penalty in about 4 mins of ice time.

Rutta looks ok but he can’t control the puck. Looks like he panics as soon as he gets the puck. Joki looks smooth and like he’s out there playing and not overthinking. Let’s see how he looks after teams start taking runs at him. It will happen.

Agree on both. I'm excited to see how Joki handles the heat

I don't think the hot hand is "that" hot. He has been good, but not like lights out. I think Forsberg will play.

Ward does not equal lights out. I was leaning towards your way, but no one knows the inner mechanizations of Q's mind.

I really believe being up by one goal in the 3rd this is where this team really misses Hossa and Nik

The terrible Ottawa Senators - whom the Hawks barely beat last nite - just beat the great Maple Leafs 5-3 - in Toronto.
