I hope so ,would be nice for him to steal one from the leafs in the home opener .Would be a great confidence boost for the kid .Looks to my very wary eye like Q Is setting him up to fail .And at home on top of it ,trying to embarrass Stan . Maybe I should take off the tin foil hat lol

Really? You can't protect athletes, he needs to step up and play goalie to the best of his ability and want this challenge. This whole annointing the Leafs as some juggernaut is a joke very good team but how many top 4 dmen do they have? Pretty much as many as tvwe Hawks have. Based on some you they shouldn't even show up

Okay fair enough, although he is the back up so as a back up you play them as such.

Mathews - not much last playoffs, but the year before - 4+1=5 in 6 games, over 20 minutes ATOI. Not bad.

Tavares - won one series last year - he’s done ok personally - over three tournaments - 11+11=22 in 24 games.

I don’t think either will be a reason if Toronto doesn’t go far.

They didn’t bring Ward in to backup Forsberg - and Forsberg has done little / nothing so far to say he should be #1.

Starting him against the Leafs doesn’t seem right - but (a) maybe Ward goes both ends of the weekend (it is the beginning of the season) and / or (b) let’s see what Forsberg had against a quality offense.

Is Noel playing center or wing? He's the kind of player the hawks need on their lower line. Scrappy and tenacious. Players like him force his own team to come together like Shaw did and like Hartman should have.

Yeah, he sounds a lot like Shaw. No idea if he's got the whole game though. Can he score and defend like Shaw could or does he just bring the grit and energy? Hope to learn that as the season progresses...

It's likely that Forsling starts out at the Rock. Murphy won't be back for another 2 months or so. A lot can change in that time. Jokiharju might've shown he needs more seasoning and gets sent down. Another injury could open up a spot. Davidson could get cut. We'll have to wait and see.

I thought Forsberg was the better pre season goalie ,I could be mistaken as did not see all the games ,or have any stats on hand .
Ward was consider the back-up last year for Darling ,and Ward came in to pick up the pieces .You have young goalie like Forsberg I think he should be given the rains .He is Crow back -up would make him the default starter when Crow went down .. We want Forsberg to play to see what we have for the future ,Ward is what he is and more then likely will not be back next year ..
