I know its a long shot and improbable but kind of package could the hawks put together to acquire nylander or Richie?

One more thing from my view from the top row of the Enterprise Center last night:
Both Saad and Kahun looked fine. If they keep doing what they did last night, they will both get plenty of goals AND even more points this year. And they both look NHL level, defensively speaking.

sound the alarms in blowsville...

"Yeo even tiptoed right up to the edge of calling his own players soft. How else would you describe his scathing description of a lack of interest in blocking shots and corralling loose pucks. Who was he talking about, specifically? It might be a better exercise to eliminate the players he was not talking about."

“It’s brutal,” Yeo said at one point. “This is not winning hockey we are playing right now. We can try to analyze and figure out whatever the reasons are. Maybe we just think we are good.”

The book on Toews has been 5-hole for so long that Toews can start taking advantage of that in critical moments like last night.

Tanner, your crap is crap. Coyotes are yet to score, but still play great games. Great individual efforts and outplay opponents and outshoot opponents. BUT THEY HAVEN'T SCORED! Oh dear lord, the game is measured by goals that is the determining basis of hockey, score more than your opponent. Well, they could win the division if they didn't lose so many times.

Ritchie scored 10 goals last year so it shouldn't take a lot, Nylander would cost more than Chicago can afford to give up.

Watching the replay on NBCSN+ just now. On the Taresenko goal after the Seabs turnover....just before that Ryan O'Reilly took a six stride charge into Seabs and caught Seabs in the mouth with the shaft of his stick.
Could easily have been called a charge or a boarding penalty.

Nylander wants way too much money - especially given he really hasn’t accomplished much yet.

I said Q would ride the hot hand, it happened to be Ward. We might argue ...

Rather see Ward if the Leafs bring their "A" game, getting lit up could wreck Forsberg very early!!

It might be off blog topic to talk about players from other teams, but the argument can be made that a lot of players are getting paid/wanting too much for not accomplishing anything. McDavid might be awesome, but he hasn't accomplished a lot. Playoffs once, right?

Could have been 5 and a game. It was ridiculous it wasn’t something. O’Reilly is a big, heavy player - can’t just let him plaster people. Refs were off all night making soft calls but letting other calls slide. Really bugs me when call one player out of a two player tangle but then let other similar situations go - also when won’t call 2nd obvious penalty on a PP - Schmaltz obviously tripped. Schmaltz couldn’t get penalty call to save his life last night. He was hooked during long possession.

I will say Saad creating net front presence last night led to Kaners goal and he actually looked a little better last night.

Kahun not hurting the first line and had a few key passes exciting the zone which the Hawks are having so much trouble with.

Gusto some of his passes last night, woof, but im all for him skating the puck out from goal line to blue line, very impressive

- BetweenTheDots

Now if we can only get Schmaltz to shoot a bit more rather than trying to make the circus pass....

Shudda been a call - but Seabrook seems to have gotten off the half-assed failed clearing attempt before the hit.

Forsberg could get wrecked by not playing for long periods....

I wonder what deal was in place with the Ward signing. You will be Berg's back-up or the other way around. Ward hasn't been bad.

Justin Lowe: Hawks v. Blues – 5 Thoughts

It's Thanksgiving here in Canada (Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canucks), so I'll make this short as I'm off to spend time with the family.

The Hawks and Blues battle tonight at 8 pm EST.

Here are 5 quick thoughts leading up to the game tonight.

- Justin Lowe

Happy Thanksgiving from a fellow Canadian. Love me some Thanksgiving turkey, gravy and stuffing. You’re in a log cabin for Thanksgiving? Very Canadiana. We have spent Thanksgiving lake-side before ourselves - it’s wonderful.

I think that was Maroon...not sure of boarding but definately a high stick caught Seab right in the chops and two refs watching the play missed it.
