He’s got a bigger frame better shot and a nice stretch pass to his game. Also saw him try to throw a few semi hip checks. Only 2 games but he doesn’t seem to be overwhelmed or that the NHL game is too fast for him. Composer for a young Dman is key.

You and me both. I felt better about him in the offensive zone and had a good feel for his ability to move the puck, but his play turning back and going in has been sensational. If he has that aspect figured out we got us a find here. Kudos to Bowman and staff for this pick (so far). Mind you, it is early.

I think it is time to put schmaltz back to wing. He just hasn't been cutting it so far. And it feels like saad is bringing down that line, just no chemistry for some reason.

That's going to happen at some point. He is solid as a rock there, a nice puck mover, good passer and vision. Just needs the change, I think he'll eventually get it. He has the look of a top pairing D-man to me. Maybe hyperbole, but this is a kid that is really growing on me big time.

So if the captain can carry the 1st line this year, then you have Kane being Kane, and Crawford comes back, i may be drinking the kool aid but i can't see them being a lottery team

Can you imagine once boqvuist develops a bit more? Add to that all of these promising prospects that can fill in around them. I have a feeling this defense is going to be pretty dominate in a couple of years!

I'd agree that he hasn't really done anything special so far, but he had a good camp. Maybe give him a few more games, and if he doesn't come around, maybe they bring up highmore.
