the ump is certainly generous with the corners tonight...tough to hit with those pitches and calls for both teams... - bogiedoc
I agree, it changed the whole Schwarber at bat. Home plate is 21 inches wide tonight |

Anyone else more than tired of the incessant litany of stats by the ESPN crew. Is it a math contest or a baseball game ?? |

Who's the idiot that said Cubs will take that every day? Cubs are pressing cotton now.
I really hate A Rod ... I really hate him as an announcer. When he was juicing, his excuse was he didn't know what was happening. Jay Leno made the joke, when a man asks you to pull your pants down, 1 of 2 things is about to happen. |

That pinch hitter just lost his job with that at bat. |

Why why why does ANY manager remove his best offensive player in the eighth inning of a win or go home game |

Not really. Arrogant coach and organization that decide not to change their approach all year. 2nd most games with 0 or 1 runs scored this year. Kind of similar to the Hawks organization. |

Bryant shouldn’t be playing. Clearly his shoulder is a mess. He wasn’t close to a fastball. |

I don't like baseball, but playoffs get a little interesting, not this year. At least the bears look good. It's funny that all Chicago sports are at completely different levels of compete. Most are in the rebuild/up and coming. |

He’s a good hitter when he is right. He wasn’t even looking opposite field. Means he can’t extend that shoulder. Looked like protective weak swings. No contact hitters on the team except Zoborist. You can’t have Heyward Almora Contreras Schwarber and Happ on the same team. Too many automatic easy outs. |

i am with you: game is to damn slow, they are ruining the game with the way pitchers are developed and managed, and situation hitting has all but disappeared...its the long ball or k's. and the cubs still strike out way to much...learn to put the ball in play |

Thought this was interesting from his former HC in CO, Marc Crawford:
“What he excels at is his vision of the game is that Gretzky-like level,” Crawford said. “Where [Wayne] Gretzky had that anticipation and that ability to do it as a player, Joel’s ability to see the game [as a coach] is unsurpassed in our game.” |

... so how is it that the Hawks can't afford to sign Panarin in the offseason? How much do they got in spare cap space? Who is coming off of it? Who gets replaced in the depth chart? Is Panarin worth the cap space and the current value of Kruger's contract? Does he take another winger's spot if you sign the guy, can you replace or resign Kruger for less (you better be able to ... ).
Whether they will or not is a different question than how can they? Yeh they probably can if they want to.
As I said though whether the team chooses to is an entirely different matter. It is plausible that there will be a different front office crew which might have a different outlook, so who can say ... but it won't be due to wont of the money. |
