Remember when we were one of the oldest teams in the league? Assuming our opening night lines are:
Hall-Nico-Palms
Mojo-Zacha-Bratt
Wood-Zajac-JQ
Coleman-Boyle-Noeson
Look at the ages on these guys:
26-19-27
27-21-20
23-33-22
26-33-25
Average age of 25 with our forward group. It's pretty crazy how much better the situation with this team is no compared to three years ago. - MannySilvers
That top 6 especially is key! Very young and fast. This team has done many grated moves over the past 3 years, but I admit I was disappointed with the lack of offseason activity. Guess there is confidence within the organization.

If Andreas Borgman is on waivers they should claim him if possible. - Devils9503
Ya but with Yakovlev/Santini/Gryba/Kapla/Mueller already on the roll, were pretty log jammed with potential bottom pairing D already. Borgman is good, but probably not a good fit for the Devs roster. |

Why does the Official NJ Devil website list Anderson on the roster but not Quenville or Santini? Death is also listed as #39 so it was updated recently. Were they waived and I missed it? |

I wouldn't consider Yakovlev or Kapla as legit potential bottom pairing D men. Gryba maybe but he not good and 30. So if Borgman has real potential, I wouldn't let those guys stop us from taking Borgman; assuming Borgman has real potential. I am not familiar with him. |

I have a prediction!
Nico is our Derek Jeter.
We will NOT miss a postseason as long as he is with this team. |

I wouldn't consider Lovejoy a legit bottom pairing D man either, but time and time again he is suited up. Haha but I agree that Kapla and Yakovlev have a lot to work on if they want to be NHL'rs. At lease Mueller has looked very solid as bottom D this preseason. Nothing fancy but solid. |

Expect nothing less from Hall at the end of that one. Thought Butcher had a particularly good game from what I saw. |

I watched the encore showing on MSG+. It's hard for my non-expert self to really gain any knowledge of the players from this game. The extra space changes everything, because in hockey, space and spacing IS everything. Whoever looked good or bad.. it's almost moot because they looked good or bad on that ice surface. waste of a game. guys looked as good as they could trying to defend an offense that has much more room to get around them. |

Have to agree that in an exhibition game on a large ice surface you shouldn't take much away from there. That said, I still think Miles Wood showed he's a good and improving player. Great work along the boards, a sweet pass to for the assist on Greene's goal.... After everyone saying (frank) him during the holdout, I'm glad he's on this team because he clearly makes them better. |
