Agree on all of this. Really disappointed in McLeod. Between his OHL stats, his limited role on the Canadian Junior team, and his most recent camp, he just doesn't appear to have a ton of offensive ability. Not saying he doesn't have a future in the league or on the Devils, but at this point, which I admit is still relatively early, he seems like a 3rd line-speedy-PK type of player.

I wouldn't be surprised if Anderson is first player called up. Devils need right handed wingers, but maybe they're humbling this kid a bit and want to challenge him.

Ya, while still young, Mcleod has been a huge disappointment. The fact that 3 Defensmen were taken after him with higher ppg should have been a warning sign. No idea how scouting chose him, nor why they didn't trade down in the draft to get him a few picks later. Either way it looks bad. I feel zacha is already our speedy pk 3C, and don't see how Mcleod can fit this lineup. Love that Anderson will be getting a serious role in the AHL, and Lappin will hopefully get a shot with another club. Too bad he can't help out in Bing, but I understand the move.

Should the Devils take their chances and trade Ty Smith and McLeod or Zacha for William Nylander and draft picks?

Absolutely!!! If you can package Smith and Zacha for Nylander, its a no brainer. I have high hopes for Smith, but if we can acquire a true RH player that plays either the wing or centre, and put up 61 points with limited ice time, TAKE IT!!!!

Every Ek rumor revolves around Philly, and the Flyers have a very strong crop of young D-men.

His development would be stunted by sitting on the sidelines most nights; that wouldn't be the case with the other two.

Not the case with all players. Giving players a taste of pro culture can make them work harder when they eventually do get sent down.

McLeod was hit by an LBI injury and he's a speedy player. If a speedy player can't play with speed, then yeah, their stats are going to be mediocre. Good news is, though he's not ready now, he's still got a few years of time in the A, and at the very least, he can become a forechecking grinder with his size if he never pans out offensively. This is mid-first-round picking when you draft 18 year olds... you get a real mixed bag there.

If Mueller doesn't play considerably better he is going to force the Devil's into a 9 game tryout. If Smith gets the tryout there's no way to not carry 8 Defenseman & 13 forwards. I was really hoping as we phase Greene out with Mueller & Butcher getting better & better. Then after a yr or 2 of development Smith comes up & that's the future of the LD.
Binghamton adding a lot of players. Really hope they go with Cam over Blackwood til Lack gets back. It's like Blackwood gets worse with time. If Binghamton doesn't make the playoffs (and not barely make it) I won't be near as excited about our prospects. Adding Yakolev-Gyrba-Anderson-Mcleod-Studenic should be a significant improvement. Speers looked a ton better. Looks like Lappin will be back. Tangradi will be interesting. Looks like Gabriel is perfect for fans. Fans love the fights & it looks like that's all he's out there for. You can stream all Binghamton games on Roku @ AHLTV channel. Won't be on there till October. The AHL app on your phone will work till then. Only $60 for the whole season. I'm already paid up & ready for those games to start too.
