Cam Ward posted a .906 behind a top tier possession team last year, and hasn't hit higher than .910 in 6 seasons.
How do you think he's going to look behind what the Blackhawks are going to be throwing out there as a defense? |

That would be a good night. Ward let in soft goals especially the 2nd goal. Toews has been given every opportunity and he seems timid with driving the puck . Kahuan I liked his game. |

kunitz had a tickling match. And manning took one punch and fell down from witowski. Olyck made it sound like he was going up against tony twist or colton orr. The hawks desperately need someone who can actually fight. - vandymeer23
So you'd prefer that over 4-6 more guys that are actually really good at hockey??! Priceless. |

We need Redass! I don't know about you but I hated those Blackhawk cup wins where the team was always out hit and no one ever fought. Give me old time "beat em in the alley" hockey rather than a Championship, or three, any day. |

I'm not judging, just wanting clarifucation, you would trade 3 championships for a fighting team? Like hard to play against or drop the gloves? Even if it meant never winning a cup?
I think fights in playoffs get penalized worse than regular season. |

What are Utes? Not trying to be snippy or sarcastic, just genuinely asking.
I never said hate, I had this discussion a few days ago and LBR chimed in and gave clarity to the viewpoint. Q give unfair chances is what I am saying. Kahun did play well, I never said anything against that. I said his contract earned him another look added with his play.
As far as stars gone, I wouldn't mind Buff or TT BACK. This is a thought, no credence or anything, just a question. Maybe the players we lost, who weren't good here or weren't good anywhere, maybe they just aren't good? Maybe we drafted stinkers? - I Am The Breadman
Utes=youths...see My Cousin Vinnie
I wouldn’t mind Buff back either but he wasn’t run out because Q had no use for him. |

Some do benefit from Colliton, I like him a lot. Most are not close, I will admit. There are some gems in Rockford, that I am not against having up now. Our prospect pool is so much better than it has been in awhile. - I Am The Breadman
Who exactly is a gem in your opinion? |

Going old school Italian, I got you.
Was Buff traded for Oduya? I agree that is more cap purge related. Wasn't he a forward here?

The story on Buff was part cap and part that Buff wanted to be a point shooting D guy and not a power forward.
So he got his big contract, has big booming slapshots, and his career -12 on D.

Whatever I will say is biased and opinionated, and you will come back and disagree, arguing over "gem."
I love stay at home defensemen, so I like Hillman. I love Fortin. Highmore was great at centre. Delia will be great in the net. Maybe even Lankinen. Joki will be great, I dont think he's ready, same for Boq. We have a lot that are unsigned that I think will be great: Wise, Soderlund, Beaudin, Sahulnov, Mitchell, Barrett. All names listed are gems to me.
This is without knowledge of other team prospects and up and comings. |

Buff was traded for Jeremy Morin, pretty sure. Waddell got to go back to the well and get Ladd for Andrei Vishnevski or something like that.
Both were Cap purges. 😢 |

He’s kidding. But read some of the posts of folks extolling the virtues of fighting and redassery and see if you can tell which they would choose.
I’ll give you a hint...it’s easier to hit a guy when you’re not holding a big clunky Cup in your mitts. |

I'm new and learning sarcasm and seriousness.
I've read redass a lot, and was thinking baboon every time. I used context to learn. |

So everyone drafted or signed in the last two years is a gem in your opinion? You do realize that only one or maybe two players from every draft year go on to have a any kind of a career. I wish I shared your optimism, but I think you're way off base |

At least 4 were drafted later than 2 years, Fortin wasn't drafted, quite an incredible story. Too bad for injury.
Maybe past the first round the nhl chances decrease, but even later rounds draftees are steals. Hawks were lucky to find steals every now and then, most are gone.
If we disagree that is fine. I respect your opinion or what you think we have developing. I'm a glass half full kind of guy. I see problems and will complain, I'm not totally blind or oblivious. I know there are good things to find, I always will and hope it continues. |

I found it - I Am The Breadman
BTW the Hawks got a first and second round pick in the Byfuglien trade as well, which they used to select C Kevin Hayes and D Justin Holl.
The move was strictly a salary cap move. They would have loved to keep him. |
