Was thinking the very same thing. I don’t know what it was supposed to be but it certainly wasn’t hockey. Did we just move out better players? |

Justin, you might have done better with Peppa Pig tonight. There were positives, just not a lot, especially as the game progressed. I liked Forsberg a lot tonight. |

Please get Q to use this on Saads behind to stick him to the bench after tonight. Real rough. - AusHawk
Didn’t watch the game but he’s turning into Victor Stalberg level puck control

Oh my! Outplayed by Ottawa - let that sink in.
Apparently Saad left his hands in Columbus.
Paging Dylan Sikura - the bus for Rockford is leaving - please make sure you're on it.
Kunitz - why?
Joki - not seeing it. Hopefully there's more, lots more.
When Manning plays better than the other 5 d-men ... nuff said on that.
Schmaltz - avoiding contact to not make a play - more than once.
Positives - Hayden, Toews, DeBrincat, Martinsen.
By the way - did the Hawks win a faceoff tonight? |

Telling myself it's only preseason, but dreadful comes to mind. Hawks should try to make a run then blow it up at the TDL if they are out of the race. |

Top 6 pick or possibly a top 4 in next years draft?
With the timely but necessary walking papers for Q & Stanbo?
It’s gonna be another long season... |

Not looking good. And WTH is up with Saad? Geezus. We thought last year was bad. This year could be worse. Stan and Q gone by January. You wont have a choice. Stan's off season was brutal this year and Q still wants to run the same system with a team that can't run it. Not his fault, but if he does not change up to make up for this dreadful roster then......

Agree with you on everything ER. I would add Forsberg to positives. He seemed poised and comfortable. Gus started out good, then ended poorly and Rutta was the opposite. A lot just didn't show up and a lot couldn't finish. |

Forberg was pretty good. The Sens weren't able to test him too much. The middle of the Hawks lineup didn't generate much offensive pressure start to finish but, the D did limit the "holy crap" moments.
Saad is fighting it right now. I don't think he has looked like he did last year at all in these last two games. He has played worse thus far, but still a small sample size of meaningless hockey.
While he has been skating better, I still want to see more for Anisimov. Last night was a perfect example of him not really getting any offensive mojo without some world class wingers. He did well carrying the puck in on the attack, but when he tried to make something happen on his own, it was usually knocked off his stick or he was taken off the puck. Still, he looks healthier than he was last year, but I'd love to see him back to getting the occasional partial breakaway or dropping his shoulder and driving to the net. We got some of that his first two seasons here, but maybe he is just not going 100% in the preseason.
Sikura to me, he doesn't look like his conditioning is there yet. Just that he looked a bit winded at times when he tried to push himself, especially in the third and he just didn't seem to engage into the play 100%. I think he sealed his start to the season. |

100% agreed. Sikura did not look good at all. Rockford bound to start the year.
Defense looked quite a bit better last night, but it was only the Senators and that team isn't going to generate much offense against anyone.
If preseason is any indication, Toews is going to have a big year. He looks a lot better out there and DeBrincat is a perfect fit with him. Their linemate will just have to keep up and be in the right areas for that line to play well. |

I dont get Kunitz. Why is right. He has brought nothing to Hawks except eating cap space. Bowman’s offseason was horrendus. And as long as fans keep showing up, and bottom line is healthy, nothing will change. We need to start hurting the Hawks pocketbook and then changes will be made. Kunitz, Manning, Davidson and Ward are our big additions. Meanwhile, Karllson, Pacoriety and other bigger names go elsewhere. What happened to obtaining Faulk? This window did not have to close this quickly. Saad has struggled, but I think he will right the ship. Just not on third line. You are paying him like a first liner...so put him there with Toews and Kahun. Put Cat with Schmaltz and Kane. Keep 4th line intact. Third line of AA, Kampf and Johnson.

He has been moved to RW those games also since Kunitz is playing the LW. I saw Saad several times drifting over to the other side either from simple habit or because Kunitz was nowhere to be found. But yes, Saad has not looked good. |

I live in the Chicago suburbs and have a 5 minute drive to the metra station. Four out of 5 days this week I've hit radio ads for available Blackhawks tickets "at every price range".
My assumption is the Wirtz/exec group knows this is a dog-doo year in terms of ticket sales and actual on ice product. I think they're hoping to sell off as many spare parts as possible for youth and maybe keep 88 so that the UC isn't completely empty. |

Knew since last year this would be coming, some bad years lay ahead. Still too much cap tied up in few players who are the down side of careers. Al tough we talk our prospects up but by most were considered to be on the low rungs of quality prospects . Hopefully a few high drafts will get us moving in the right direction. Sucks but I will still be cheering but hoping we land Hughes |
