Right now I'd rather have the giant panda Dahlstrom play in the NHL than Manning. Hell Davidson looks better than you know...
Loki looks good he's gonna see some time in the NHL |

Martinson Kruger Johnson line has been excellent! Possible 4th line to start the season? Kayun with a sick pass to Hayden for the goal. I would love to see Kayun get a chance with Toews and Cat. D. Sikura has not really impressed me so far imo.
Kayun Toews Cat
Saad Schmaltz Kane
Kunitz AA Sikura/Kampf/Hayden
Martinson Kruger T. Johnson 😀 |

Kahun definitely showing well. He had a nice setup for Fortin's goal in that first game of the preseason. |

Delia, Kayun, Johnson, Martinsen, Kruger and Joki all stood out tonight. It's going to be interesting to see who comes out on top between Kampf, Hayden, Sikura, Johnson, Martinsen. |

Toews, Kane, Saad, Debrincat, Schmaltz, Kruger, AA, Kunitz are locks.
I like the chances for Kampf, Sikura, Hayden, Martinsen, Kahun.
Ejdsell should start at the Rock.
Seabs, Keith, Gus are locks.
Rutta, Forsling, Murphy are injured.
Joki, Boqvist may be up for 9 games, Joki maybe longer. Then when the injured players return they will assess how Joki is playing.
Manning makes $2.25 mil so he is gifted a spot.
Davidson might be the 7th defender. Dahlstrom has an outside chance, but he would be better served starting on the top pairing at the Rock.
Ward and Forsberg share 70/30. You can only hope for Crow to get healthy and regain his form. Maybe December if ever. Delia /Lankinen 70/30 share at the Rock.
Colliton will have a lot of talent to work with. They should be a fun team to watch, maybe a better record than the Hawks. |

Domink Kahun. A smart forward, who plays a reliable two-way game and is present at both ends of the ice using his tremendous skating abilities. Dominic Kahun has quick hands and is a slick stick-handler as he doesn’t need much room to dazzle with the puck through the opponent’s defense. Has a small stature, with a lot of room to bulk up and his physical play is inexistent as he shies away from contact on the ice. Poised with the puck and sees the ice well with remarkable vision. With those attributes, he can lead a team’s offense and make his teammates better. (by Rafik Soliman, August 2014)
Pretty accurate. That Toews line needs a playmaker imo and I think this kid would complement 19 and 12 well! |

Honest question for fans of this team:
What excites you more? Fighting and scrapping throughout the regular season to eek out a playoff spot with a team that’s nowhere near Cup contention and destined for another first round exit....or potentially drafting #1 overall?
Not even debatable if you ask me. - SimpleJack
Not debatable to me either, but there’s no chance we agree.
I guess that’s what actually makes it debatable. |

I'd rather have someone who can be more physical on Toews line. Toews with two really small guys (though very talented) doesn't excite me. Need more balance. |

Hard to say SS. Right now need to see more. Just like I didn't want to flush the Hawks down the crapper after two pre-season games, I don't want to put Kahun in the Hall of Fame just yet. I like your top two lines. Not sure about the third line there and like that fourth line for sure. |

Dahlstrom has played mostly top pairing in Rockford for 2 seasons now. He's only 23, but it's getting to be the point where an org is done with a player if they can't advance. |

But now you're back to a having a top line no true playmaker.
If Martinsen plays over any of the younger guys like Hayden or Kampf, imo it could be a mistake. They're both ready for the NHL, learned all they can in the AHL, and so need to develop in the NHL - means Martinsen as a replacement level forward needs to be move aside. Johnson might be ready too, I don't know really, but he's going to get here sooner rather than later. This isn't a knock on Martinsen either - I do like him, I just think there are other priorities.
I'd love for Kampf or Johnson to come in and become a Frolik-on-the-Hawks type of player. Carve out a niche as that speedy defensive specialist that compliments Kruger. Hayden can be more of the body checker on the line. |

Who is there to deter people from taking out Kane’s knee with a cheap shot? Who is there to make life miserable for opposing teams defenseman? |

Agree on that point. If I'm not mistaken, Dahlstrom is the longest tenured Hog (albeit by just one year as an incoming junior amongst a crew of freshmen and sophomores). |
