Yet you have Tanner blogging like hinostroza is a hidden breakout star that was the steal of the century.
Hino MIGHT be a consistent 40 point bottom/middle six player but tell me exactly what's so special about that? Those are a dime a dozen across the league
And he's not even there yet - Stan_Bowman

Kempny even said, "It was nice knowing that I can make mistakes and learn from them, not be a healthy scratch for a couple of games like when I was in Chicago." - I Am The Breadman
I was talking specifically about usage and deployment, like facing low QOC in the OZS - I assume "use" better meant those things.
Also, Kempny was benched a lot after mistake in Washington - not scratched completely but benched. Like the 4th game against Tampa where he practically gave the puck in front of the net, he played under 14 minutes. He had 8 games in the playoffs in which we was sat after mistakes of some sort.
I can't speak on how Trotz was more supportive overall, though. It sounds like Kempny liked playing for him. |

The way you are used or deployed, could directly lead to a player's success or failure on the ice. Kempny is and was not a 2ND dman. Kempny is more offensive minded, so bad in his own zone, big turnover you point out.
Benching is way different then scratching. Different message, you feel different about yourself, a lot of stuff.
He also liked the contract he got. |

But, that's the problems. The team doesn't want guys in the NHL making mistakes. If they do, you lose. Much better to make those mistakes in the A, or the K, or Canadian Jrs.
As others have said, Kempny just isn't very good. At best, he's a 5-6-7, and the Blackhawks had a plethora of 5-6-7 guys last year. The were fortunate to find a buyer to give them something for an expendable asset. |

I get that, and I have no problem with the return we got. There's a reason he was undrafted.

hmmm ... Shalunov didn't play in CSKA's 4-0 win today. It's probably an injury ... unless ... Stan figured out Kunitz isn't the answer at 1LW and set the wheels in motion to bring Shalunov over this season ... eh? ... maybe?

A lot of talk that Seabrook has been traded for Gardiner and a third. Any truth to this?
Edit: Turns out a buddy may have been pulling my leg. http://www.breakingnews36...for-d-brent-seabrook.html
Also sent me an edited old tweet. Big if true. Won't hold my breath though |

Even though the reality of the Hawks winning a Cup this year is a far stretch, I do think about who Toews would hand the Cup to first if the Hawks were to win. My guess is Anisimov, then Murphy and Manning. Kunitz is the oldest but he's won 4 Cups! |

Could be a true current rumor but I remember this also happened last season and it turned out that old articles of this rumor resurfaced. |

It is one thing to suggest Shulanov is coming over eventually (emphasis: eventually). It is ludicrous to even remotely try to support a scenario where he comes to Chicago any time this season.
Salary cap and compensation to his Russian team would be issues difficult to overcome while he is under an existing contract. Furthermore, how is he going to help enough in what promises to be a dismal sub .500 season?
There is no point in Shulanov speculation right now so this conjecture ought to be if ditched. Unless you have a creditable source this idea appears nothing less than a dreary reporter trying to stir the pot.
While Shulanov presence would be welcome, I don't see it happening until his current contract ends - if that is even next summer might be erroneous. The timing to come over still is not yet quite right. He inked a new deal after last season. Two seasons of suffering then a few of our prospects and a Shulanov could alleviate some loosing.
Last point: Shulanov IMHO might be a streaky player never quite a big scorer but perhaps on the precipe of greater exploits in his career. |

It is too early to form solid conclusions about most of the prospects. Shaking off the tust, getting into shape remains the major emphasis. Having to determine whom could make the team among the prospects is really more an outgrowth of just loving the skill set of certain prospects more than another prospect. After the exhibition games, come on now!
It is that and the short exhibition season that exasperates the process of what should be careful scrrutiny whether rushing Boqvist - even if he plays only nine NHL games -to a crashing crecendo. There is no need to rush this kid.
To be sure, however, there.is reason to be excited for good things from him down the road.
There should be something said now about why he even plays more exhibition s which is only taking away TOI from another prospect.
Beyond the excitement also evident over Jokiharju ascent, what about Hillman sent down this early? Have we prematurely been thinking that he is better and more ready than actually is the case?
Well we just are left sort if holding our breath and a few keystrokes until roughly 20 AHL gp. Then we might have enough of a sample to gain insight into what may become with some prospects. Namely for me at least: Hillman.
I am already disappointed that Carlsson was not better. But scouting reports on each prospect do tend to be accurate. Let the prospects play a bit and see how they fare.
Dahlstrom and Jokiharju is my current guess who steps up this season. |

Jokiharju trying to do a little much on the PP? I mean, seemed obvious he was trying to get the PK players to move and open up a seam, but they weren't biting like they probably would in the WHL. |
