Missed first period - is the Toews line working? Any chemistry? Didn't seem too great this period.
- pdx2ord

Ahhhhh NO. The minute Toews creates something offensively will be his first. He's cruising the ice nicely though. I do not recall a shot on goal through 2 periods from our so-called top line.

I think the telling thing is this D core tonight is green. The Hawks possession of the puck is suffering and the goalies are kinda holding them in game even.

Exactly, DeBrincat just set up Kunitz in front of the goalie, couldn't hold the pass or just tap it.

Dineen just mention in his short interview before the third period that the hawks had a 30-minute training session on the power play. Now I understand why it’s as good as it is!

Outside of Kampf and Debrincat, I wasn't impressed with anybody. Plays here and there by some, but no one put up a consistent effort like those two. Boqvist had his spurts, in a few years he'll be great and won't look like an 18 year old.

At least Kunitz will be one of the few hockey players that will go to the front of the net

Is there anyway Schmaltz can get a large cup of toughness, they said TT was soft, sheesh

I know it'll be a small line, but maybe Sikura would work with Toews and Cat as a playmaker

And Olczyk has been touting the addition of Manning since the signing. I guess he's just being the ultimate rah rah organizational homer.....or maybe a reason why his coaching career ended so quickly. Manning worse than Oesterle .

Thanks for the insight on both lines. I'd been seeing the same things. Feel like Schmaltz may still be deferring too much to Kane. Maybe switch it up on first two lines and see how it goes, particularly since Kane and DBC spent significant time working with each other this summer (though Q would never):

DBC - Toews - Kane
Saad - Schmaltz - ??

Yea that was interesting, i guess i don't see what he does? He was out of position all night. My favorite play was he tried to check someone at the blue line, he missed and checked i believe it was Schmaltz coming back.

I haven't been on the wagon of firing Bowman, but signing Manning to a 2 year deal for $4 mil irritates me because he isn't learning from mistakes, he's making the same ones over and over, just can't pay good money to a non NHL player, now we have 2, Manning and Murphy

AND.....do you think somebody from the Blackhawks organization could please tell Pat Foley to STOP calling these games "practice games". They are pre-season games that cost us season ticket holders FULL PRICE !! If they're "practice games" then we should be charged "practice" prices of $ 5.00 for the 3 games next week at UC !!!
