As long as Kane is on the team, there's a reason to watch every game. Schmaltz and The Cat provide offensive flair, and Saad of 2015 was a treat to watch. Here's hoping he can play with a chip on his shoulder after last year's disastrous 37 point campaign.
- EnzoD

Kane's year was slightly off by his standards but I could see that line (if Q keeps them together longer than a game or two) of Saad Schmaltz and Kane being really good.

I know they're short a top 6 forward on Toews line but maybe they find a guy on their roster who has some chemistry with those two...not impossible.

Idk, but I doubt anyone is seriously thinking that...more like hoping they surprise and make the playoffs.

That said, I still think there is more to go see at the games than some aging superstars. Definitely would go to see DeBrincat, Schmaltz and possibly Joker and some of the other Utes.

This isn't as bad as 2005-6 where there wasn't much to watch other than a young Keith and Seabs.

I actually think the team has a good chance to bounce back depending on what happens in goal. Definitely some exciting young talent. Still think we are missing 2 top 9 forwards and a shutdown top 4 dmen. Really need a top 6 guy that can go to the net and maintain puck possession in the tough areas and is a threat to score gaols.

Toews really can't anymore at least consistently and Hossa is gone. Saad? Idk. Other top teams in the division have those guys. Tarasenko, Steen, Johansen, Forsberg, half the Jets forwards.

Who in the Hawks top 6 is going to win a board battle, take a puck off the half boards, and bull his way to the net for a greasy goal?

I meet a lot of bandwagon fans that don't really know hockey and just started liking the hawks because they were winning cups. I think a decent amount have that mentality still. Call them the One Goal crowd. Maybe last year took the blinders off for some though.

Nothing wrong with being a more educated fan. Hopefully they all don't leave in droves if the team has a tough year again.

I think they are potentially building something decent again with the recent drafts and stockpiling dmen. Is it Cup good? No idea, but I think it would suck if the Hawks are once again relegated to the status of an afterthought with no local media attention.

I would go to some of those games in 2005-06. I lived a mile away and could get a cheap ticket...sat pretty much wherever I wanted in the Upper Bowl. That was about the only cool part about it. The on ice product was awful and just no fun to watch.

2015 playoff run was the greatest individual performance by a defenseman throughout all 4 rounds that I've seen. Keith played over 30 minutes of world class hockey. he's never been the same, but definitely worth it.
- EnzoD

Keith was a dynamo that year and it was the only Cup win of the three where the Conn Smythe winner was pretty much indisputable.

If Crow hadn't lost the net in the Preds series there may have been some debate but I'm pretty sure Keith was unanimous that year.

Kampf looking good, Schmaltz looking good, and Debrincat looking good. But we're only through 7 minutes.

Kampf looks really confident on the ice so far. Burish was saying Toews was in camp leaner and faster and I thought he is looking quick so far tonight.

Toews is looking quicker. Kampf has some great chemistry with T Sikura. Boqvist and Manning looking good on d.

I think T Sikura will earn a callup when injuries open a spot this year.

Is there a hole in Forsberg’s chest? I know that’s a deflection, but you’d like to see a stop there when it hits you in the chest....

Yeah, pretty weak goal. Especially he was looking to the right after it hit him

Manning kinda blew it trying to do too much and turning that puck over when his teammates wanted to get off the ice.

I don't think that was a week as some may think .Nice defection through the legs by Vanek and Forsberg was tracking it well across the net went under his arm .Made some real nice saves and had a strong period IMO

He needs to absorb more pucks - lots of rebounds on the left side of my TV screen.
