Who are you guys and gals looking forward to seeing tonight?

I will have my eye on the defence more than anything. I am really curious to see how Joki, Boqvist and Hillman look in game action.

Up front, I am intrigued to see if Fortin can have a preseason like he did 2 years ago.

According to Powers, it sounds like Q is already starting to rethink the Kunitz on the Toews/Debrincat line.

He likes him, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him moved off by the end of training camp.

Its probably been asked, but don't have time to scroll through the pages.

Is there anywhere to watch it if you aren't in the area?

Jack, you are the ultimate Hawks fan buddy, but let’s face it, most including myself, think that if and if the Blackhawks do happen to get next years number one overall pick, which the consensus is Jack Hughes, Stan Bowman will screw that one up too,He’ll opt to draft some 5 foot seven and 150 pound forward that is lighting up Johnny’s icehouse Monday night C league on the score sheet.
Three Stanley cups we could thank mostly Dale Tallon and believe it or not even Mike Smith before him.
I would like to see them be competitive at least to a point where when you go to a game you’re not finding yourself walking around the concourse looking for something to do halfway through the game or leaving at the start of the third.
I got a believe that the general manager has a short leash on him this season. And until they get another hockey guy in there that actually has played the game in the National Hockey League to evaluate talent and run the show, it’s going to be what it is. That’s just my take and one man’s opinion on it that is all.

Right?

Too bad this organization didn’t have the stones to take JVR instead of that smurf Kane.

Oh what could have been?

I remember when the debate was should the Hawks draft Kane, van Riemsdyk, or Turris. For many of us, Kane was a no brainer and that decision still holds today. And that's no slight to JVR or Turris as they're solid, valuable players but just not in the same galaxy as Kane.

Houston made the right choice at #1 - Portland?

I don’t know - if Bowie didn’t have Bill Walton feet from day 1....

Our luck with centers was legendary in a bad way. . .ah well, still got to see what was the 2nd winning era, even if our last hopes and dreams were ultimately crushed by Chicago.

That Walton team was as good a team as I’ve seen - too bad about his feet - there were more championships there to be had.

Kruger is battling for the puck a lot. Honestly, I think he looks like he can still contribute in his old role.

More likely to finish .500 or better this season, Blackhawks or Bears?

Most likely to be traded to fortify another team's playoff success: Anisimov or Crawford

More likely to occur or not: Kane 100 points, Q or Bowman dismissed?

That’s all fair and I hope he succeeds too. To also be fair there were no blue chippers at QB in that draft last year at least according to the analysts. Mahomes was a guy with a big arm coming out and maneuvering skills but character questions if I recall. Could he learn a pro offense? So far obviously yes.

Also, McNown made plays but didn’t have any desire to get better. Mitch seemingly does, but can/will he?

- HawkintheD

I also think it's important to note, NFL defensive coordinators had all off season to dissect the rookie QBs including Garrapolo and they are great at taking away what they like to do. Notice no one is saying much about Watson who lit it up like Mahomes is right now but the NFL will make an adjustment on him pretty soon.

Trubisky to me is 1 learning a new offense, 2 he gets happy feet right now once his first read is taken away 3 fighting all the crap he was taught by the previous regime.

FWIW, Rodgers had 3 years on the bench and really struggled the first 12 games he played, Farve took a trade and a few years later he became something so many many many QBs went this route so so so few are like Manning and even then he threw equal amount of ints to tds in his first season. So there's hope but being a Bear fan that little bit of doubt sits there, but im glad they brought a coach in if anything its Mitch's greatest chance to develop.

95 Sikura screwed up on the 1st Columbus goal. Skated away from the point that generated the shot rather than going out to challenge him. That’s a lesson that should be learned much earlier than in the NHL.

I missed some of the first, but I thought he was okay in the shifts I've seen. Nothing flashy, but protecting the puck and his line is applying some pressure.

Hawks over .500. Trubisky is Bobby Douglass 2.0. Big, strong, strong arm, better runner than passer, & not a high IQ (aka stupid). And both were drafted from schools known for developing basketball players.

I feel that it is more amazing to see Bowvist not look too terrible than Hillman. But fesite age difference, whom was in a more competitive level of play last season?
